"Selvario 36 is a stunning and highly original hotel, with beautiful design and thoughtful details throughout. The staff were also incredibly helpful, welcoming, and attentive.
There were, however, two disappointments. First, the room lacked a proper closet. Instead, there was a wooden bar extending from the wall to hang clothes, but without a stopper, clothes constantly slid off.
My biggest surprise was the rooftop pricing. On our first night, our party ordered four imported sparkling waters with lemon juice and were shocked to discover the bill was 169,352 Colombian pesos—approximately CAD$74. We were told the water was imported but not informed of the price beforehand. Ironically, alcohol would have been cheaper. To add insult to injury, we later discovered the hotel makes its own sparkling water, which is offered complimentary to guests.
Overall, a beautiful and memorable hotel with wonderful staff, but a little more practicality in the rooms and transparency around pricing would make the experience even better."
