I’ve never been to Tulum and in booking this property it is close to both popular beach clubs of MIA and TABOO… the ocean was steps away from my room and as this was an adult only property it wasn’t wild with young folks running around. My wife and I had a wonderful three night retreat here. We were looking for somewhere quiet, where we could sit by the ocean and read and chill. This was perfect. My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon. I thought we were going to feel regretful for not staying at a beach resort, but I'm so glad we stayed here instead. We woke up every morning and hopped on the rental bikes and rode into town (and if you're ambitious like us- the ruins, the beaches, and the cenotes- all were a bit of a hike but worth it). Excellent location-quiet late at night/early morning so we slept well. Walking distance to tons of shops, restaurants, bars & beach clubs. Loved being right on the beach! Property was clean and very well maintained. Staff was friendly and attentive. Beds were super comfortable and great air conditioning. Good and drinks were all fresh and delicious. The hotel had so much character. Highly recommend!

This was our 5th visit to Esencia. We got married here 4 years ago and keep coming back. It is the perfect balance of understated beauty with warm, impeccable service (and the MOST delicious food). The new owner is really taking care to maintain the uniqueness of the property, while also making improvements. New furniture, new bath products, updated menus are just a few. The changes are lovely. We cannot say enough how special Esencia is. We recommend it to everyone we know.

My experience was lovely...tranquil, natural beauty, no loud music blasting, pristine beach, a super kind staff...all good. Breakfast was included and it was delicious. I would not recommended eating dinner there (Ziggy's) because the portions are tiny and the prices are high. To get downtown a taxi is needed...no worries, you can catch one within minutes. Mezzanine is a beautiful property right on the water with an excellent Thai restaurant. The staff are great and very kind and helpful. The only complaints are that it's somewhat far from everything and you need to take a taxi to everything which is 10$ each way, or else get a bike but generally everything is about 3 miles plus away. The beach would be beautiful if the seaweed bloom wasn't so bad. The nets are doing little to keep the seaweed out, unfortunately. It's not really nice to swim in...

This is one of the most relaxing, beautiful, peaceful trips I’ve ever been on. This property is so gorgeous - the smells, the sounds, the food - everything was so amazing. I cannot wait to come back!! Everyone there was so helpful and kind, they are able to get a taxi quickly for you and more. Tulum changed me, and I have Una Vida to thank for that. The property is great. The room was beautiful. Bed was a bit soft for my liking so I didn’t get a good sleep. But everything else was perfect. I do have mixed feelings about the fact that it is located inside the Tulum National Park, which is a government protected area. For one, it is kind of confusing to get there because google maps still shows the entrance on the north side (near the Mayan Ruins) but access is actually on the south side (where Parque del Jaguar is located). Beautiful location. Comfortable room, as advertised in pictures. Wonderful community feel. Welcoming and helpful staff. Great snorkeling right off the beach. Only downside was that there was a club nearby that was blasting music at night and we could really feel the bass. Made it hard to fall sleep.

The TRS Yucatan was part of a larger group of related hotels on a very large beautiful beach and jungle property. The butlers at our villa, especially Emilio, were very welcoming and helpful as we oriented ourselves to the many facets of the resort. The transportation cart service was quick and the drivers very friendly.....though by following the seaside/beach everything was also very walkable. Food was excellent....green juice at Helios was my favorite!

This is by far the best resort in Riviera Maya! This was our second time there and we will be back. The property is stunning. Natural mangroves run all throughout. The walking on the grounds is beautiful. You have access to all four properties no matter which one you stay at. We love Kantenah, but Colonial and White Sands are equally great. I've never been to the Yucatan let alone Tulum...and I'd never booked my own vacation out of the country before. I booked 5 nights at Maria Del Mar based off of the excellent reviews, and I'm pretty proud I made the right choice.
