Front yard full of weeds and plants blocking light into two snug windows. Would have been nice to use that space for a seat outside in the morning sunshine as the kitchen is perfectly placed through the front door. Locals lovely. Lots of pubs and shops. Great places to explore in the area."

"Lovely quite country location, off-street parking & all the comforts of home. Near train station if public transport is required, however noise from trains was not an issue. 'The stables is ideal for a couple with small kitchen if wanting to cook."

"It is a great property in a lovely rural location, yet only a mile or so from Alston. Furnished to a high standard the cottage had all you could need for a comfortable stay (even though we picked a very wet 2-3 days). We enjoyed our all-to-brief stay, and look forward to returning, hopefully when the weather is better and we can enjoy the outside patio area with it's wonderful views."

"First impreasions are good, a nice welcome touch of bread, cheese, milk and some homemade chocolates. Which after an 8 hour on the road day from Skye was welcome. The cottage is warm, comfortable and you need for nothing, all kitchen items are clean and plentiful. The sofa is comfortable and there is a nice information pack detailing the surrounding area. The bedroom is large and the bed was comfortable for me, the wife said it was a little soft but we slept well. Now onto the main letdown, the...

"First time away with our dog and could not have picked a better place. Anne(owner/host) very welcoming and cannot do enough for you. Plenty of logs for the fire, bottle of wine, fresh eggs, caramel shortcake what a welcome package, don’t think you would get this type of welcome from many places. The lodge was lovely, all the amenities you could need and more, plenty of fresh towels and bedding, the view from the living room was amazing. I found the whole place and surroundings so peaceful even...
