"Really nice little hotel. As two tall Americans, we found the bed a bit small, but we understand that is to be expected in Europe. It would have been convenient to have power outlets on both sides of the bed. But those are little things. We loved the location and it was very convenient to explore Shetland."

"Our stay at Varis House was very pleasant as the accommodation provided everything we needed and the house benefits from being well located in Lerwick with the additional benefit of parking. The host was very informative on our arrival and ensured we had everything we required. Breakfast was very much a ‘help yourselves’ affair but there was a wide variety of food, materials for hot drinks and condiments available. All in all a very enjoyable stay."

"Best place to stay when visiting Shetland. Perfect location within Shetland and within Lerwick. Walkable to everything in Lerwick. The owner Peter is great. The breakfast was very nice and the room was cozy. Very quiet and clean property. We loved it there."

"A very nice room although I found the bed a bit soft. The staff are extremely nice and accommodating. The breakfast was excellent. I ate in the restaurant twice but recommend eating at some of the restaurants in town."

"Spacious, clean and well appointed. Fabulous view over the harbour. A welcoming and helpful host added to our wonderful stay. Recommend without hesitation. Easy street parking. As the name suggests, a penthouse apartment requires some steps to climb. Great location with co-op supermarket near by and an easy 5 min walk into main street."
