We were there overnight. A very short drive out of town. The hotel is lovely. Staff were friendly, room was much bigger and more comfortable than what's available in town for the same price. Definitely worth it if you have a car. Not much in the neighborhood; in the summer I am sure the green areas would be beautiful, but it was winter so they were a bit grey and rainy (well, it's the Netherlands!).

All the rooms are different which makes them interesting. Comfortables beds, though pillows could be softer. Free bottle of champagne in suite was nice surprise. Loved the tea and pressed coffee set up in room for mornings or chilly afternoons. A steamer in the closet is better than ironing board. My husband and I recently stayed 3 nights at this hotel and could not have loved it more. The location is perfect for walking and exploring all different parts of the city. Dam Square, The Red Light District, The Anne Frank house, The Heineken Experience, and The Rijksmuseum area were all within walking distance; some closer than others. Really the perfect hotel for the museum tour, in easy walking distance to all of them. The canal is lovely and quiet, tons of busy restaurants in a 4-5 block radius, lively night-life, friendly, busy, fun. Lobby recently renovated and very enjoyable with a view of the canal -- the breakfast service is superlative. What's not to love? If you stay, book a panoramic room, you won't be disappointed.
