"Hotel is very clean and the rooms are nice. Great in room coffee, and the restaurant food is good and reasonably priced. Just a short walk from Fisherman's wharf and about 17 minute walk to downtown. The hotel offers a shuttle to downtown, but we inquired twice and they were not available for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Otherwise the staff are friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that the lights on the bed were not working and I received multiple text messages from the hotel during our stay. I was there 3 days and received a text on day 2 saying the hotel was looking forward to my visit. I think they just need to work out the timing of their automated text messages and send fewer messages."

"Embassy Inn is our go-to place to stay whenever we are in Victoria. We like the hotel and the location. For sightseeing, it's very close to the BC Legislature, IMAX Theatre, Museum, Empress Hotel, and the Inner Harbour. The rooms are clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. We like the breakfast that is provided - a good mixture of hot (eggs, sausage,bacon, ham) and cold (cereal, breads, yogurt, fruit salad) items. The staff working the breakfast area are amazing. They are calm and efficient even when swamped by hungry hordes in the morning ! We are disappointed by the quality of the coffee provided in the carafes at breakfast. It's weak, sometimes bitter. A couple of years ago there was a coffee machine that provided decent espresso drinks as well as hot chocolate. These drinks were available at breakfast and throughout the day - they were truly welcomed after a busy day of sightseeing or running chores for family. We miss the coffee machine."

"This hostel is truly friendly and has a nice vibe. My only concern was that the facility has no elevator. I suffer from knees problem and it was a challenge for me to go up the stairs to the 4th floor with all my luggage after a long day. Otherwise, it is a great choice and I will be coming back whenever I need a bed to stay in Victoria Downtown."
