"Stayed at Warakei Resort for 3 weekday nites and used it as a base for full day trips doing the Lake Taupo Loop and the Central Plateau Mts Loop.
Perfect accomodation for a late winter solo traveller. Reception staff very welcoming and helpful. Grounds extensive and diverse.....7-8am swim in thermal lap pool was magic. Room spacious, everything worked, plenty of bathroom and coffee-tea making supplies. Room serviced daily whilst out exploring. A great place to come 'home to' after out all day....

"This is a fantastic place to stay on a visit to Taupo. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and modern. The location is convenient near the town centre. We had a two bedroom unit that was perfect for a family of four. Would definitely recommend."
"Brilliant little place to stay. Clean, comfortable, when we checked in they'd already put the heat pump on for us (it was quite cold) which was a nice touch. They offered milk for coffee as well. Its the little things that make a difference here. Location - right on the lake, and a 10min walk to the centre of everything. It was quiet, and the bed was very comfortable. My only minor criticism - old school Sky TV... I took a chromecast with me to cast what we wanted to watch but it wouldn't work....
