"This hotel is well situated and the reception and bar areas are top class. The staff also are not to be faulted, providing a warm welcome and nothing too much trouble. The bedroom and decor however, leave much to be improved upon. Poor paint finishing, a wash basin in the main bedroom area separate from the shower and toilet, a dreadfully weak shower and a strange pump noise going on throughout the day/night intermittently. All easily remedied which would make this welcoming hotel one of the best in Shanklin I reckon."

"The staff were really lovely, easy check in and easy check out. But, the bathroom had toothpaste marks all over the sink, glass shelf and mirror. The temperature of the shower was either really hot or really cold, you couldn’t change it manually. The hair dryer in the room didn’t work at all. The big bathroom light didn’t work, only a small one above the mirror when you used the shower you could hardly see what you were doing."

"Great views from the bedroom towards the sea (apart from the infamous Shanklin lift shaft). Sun rise while lying in bed was fantastic to see. Staff were great and the food was good. Although some areas were a little worn and could do with a bit of TLC, it was very clean and tidy."

"We had a 1 night stay at this hotel as a family of 4 adults. It was quite a convenient stay. The rooms were clean and tidy. The staff was very friendly. There were quite a number of shops nearby and it was a short walk to the beach and the promenade along it where we could find a good restaurant for our dinner too. "

"Fabulous room with all those little details missed by so many hotels and guest houses, all present. Fabulous breakfast with quality ingredients from local butchers and bakers cooked to perfection. Lovely couple that ran it too. If I had to find one complaint it would be that we couldn’t stay there any longer. This is a fantastic place to stay and I would highly recommend."

"We had a ground floor flat, parking was easy, dogs were accepted, and the flat was fully equipt if you wanted to self cater. There was a little bit of outside space which was enclosed and good for the dog. There were places to eat a short walk away, and a footpath to the beach"
