"Host there to welcome us when we arrived. He helped to carry in the luggage and showed us how the hot water and heating worked. Amenities were ideal with breakfast food items included plus a bottle of Prosecco and shortbread as a thoughtful Christmas gift. The property had been decorated for Christmas - another kind and thoughtful touch. The property was spotlessly clean and had everything that we needed. The bed was extremely comfortable. "Great location next to the station. Nice building, with a cool, old-timey vibe. It felt like a traditional British hotel - I was visiting with a bunch of Canadians who appreciated that. The bar was a good amenity. Unfortunately the beds were uncomfortable (I put my handbag on the bed and we laughed that it basically sunk it), the shower didn't work (it was some weird electric shower thing, so I had to go and use the shower in a friend's room), and the door didn't shut/lock. But it was pretty good value, so I'd probably stay again if I ever found myself in Leicester."

"This hotel is situated in the midst of a college campus. Access requires navigating through a Security gate and though parking is adequate the hotel location is less than ideal. The hotel itself is a large complex which requires walking a fair distance to access hotel facilities. The rooms do not have air conditioning which can be an issue during hot weather. I believe the staff to be very helpful and considerate. The room itself was clean with good decor. We found the bar to be well supplied but on the expensive side compared to other local establishments. Overall, our stay was pleasant and is probably ideal for college professors, parents and visitors to the college campus, for others, not so much."

"Absolute stunning hotel. Lovely to see a hotel with so much history being restored. Currently going through refurb. Staff friendly. Breakfast amazing. Bedroom was small with no air con. Main elevator was out of order but you could use staff/service lift if needed. Car park at rear of hotel with reduced rates for hotel guests. Would definitely stay here again just not in the middle of a heat wave."
