"We came for a one night stay, two adults, one year old and a dog (one of the only places locally which allowed dogs!). The hotel looks beautiful as you drive up the winding driveway. We were warmly greeted by the receptionist and who checked us in smoothly. We had booked a four poster bed room as it had more space. "Had a very surprising experience, paid £65 for 1 single room and didn’t expect much due to the price, just something cheap and cheerful, maybe a bit dated. Room massively surpassed expectations - view of lake Windermere, minimal white/grey design, really clean, and to top it off, an amazing power shower that went ARCTIC COLD (for those who do cold showers, this one’s for you). Had the best stay! Also, it’s right next to the entrance for the walk up to Orrest head for a full panoramic view of Windermere. Perfection. "
