"This was a lovely hotel. I really liked the styling of the hotel, and the room we had was a good size and spotlessly clean. Excellent facilities in the room as well, with a choice of shower, a safe and a fridge. We ate both nights in the restaurant. The carvery was superb (don't even think about that chain if you live in Exeter - this puts it in the shade). Quality meat, properly cooked spuds and tasty veg. Plus a full other menu to choose from that was delicious (proper burgers and the garlic mushroom cup starter was great). A proper breakfast, and all round top notch service finished off the stay nicely. And all at great value prices. "

"Very relaxed hotel, beautiful large rooms and extensive grounds to walk around. Close to Bovey Tracy and Haytor Rock. The staff were really helpful and professional. The restaurant was excellent and provided a superb breakfast and dinner. We did eat in the pub which is part of the hotel (Tinpickle and Rhum) but the food was cold and service was dreadful, stick to the hotel restaurant in the conservatory! Otherwise a beautiful hotel to stay in in Dartmoor."
