Clarion Hotel Draken

"This hotel although not directly in the centre of the city is a very pleasant 10-15min walk to the centre or a tram can be caught outside the hotel. We arrived early and were checked in by a lovely staff member at reception. This was very welcome after an early flight from the UK. We were also upgraded to a larger room on higher floor with a wonderful view of the river, bonus! The room was clean and well appointed, lovely walk-in shower and tea and coffee making facilities. There was no in room safe and this may be a problem for some, although, there are safety deposit boxes available should you require one. There is limited hanging space in a small wardrobe but no drawers at all to store clothes etc. We didn’t find this a problem as we were just there for a short stay. Our buffet breakfast was included and it was exceptional. Every dietary requirement catered for, it was a truly lavish spread, the choice was incredible. Minor issues were, no in-room safe, and our cups glasses and tea and coffee were never replaced or replenished. We did mention this to reception and managed to replace our tea and coffee requirements there. All the staff we encountered throughout our stay were welcoming, friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel and wouldn’t hesitate to return."

"Clean room, friendly staff, nice breakfast. Lovely view of the harbour from the bedroom window. Very good value. Tram stop is located just outside the hotel, bus and train station a short distance away via tram or walking. Did not have long in Gothenburg but would definitely come back and stay for longer."

"Clean room but very small. BBC world didn’t work (only English Channel). Fairly basic room. No Kleenex or bath mat. However the breakfast was amazing and the staff very nice."

"One of the best stays in my European backpack trip. I appreciate the hospitality and accomodating the staffs are. The hotel looks very iconic sith the decorations including the room. I love how relaxing and comforting the bed is and I get to watch the TV as well. Very spacious where I can move around freely."
