"This is an excellent choice for seeing Saumur. It is in an old building with a lot of character. My room was large, with wooden beamed ceiling, tall windows that opened, and a limestone fireplace I wish I had in my home. Ensuite had shower and had plenty of space. Bed was comfortable. Saint-Maurice Church. The texts mention a church from the eleventh century, but the oldest parts date back to this day in the thirteenth century. It is the base of the tower and arches of the choir in the Angevin-Plantagenet style. Aubance the river takes its source in the religious building and feeds the wash located next to it.
