"Greeted by the owner as we stepped through the front door, shown straight to our room which was immaculately clean then showed me were to park my car. Overall he was extremely helpful told us of a restaurant to go for an evening meal which turned out to be very good, breakfast was excellent. If I am passing that way again then I would definitely return."

"This is a beautiful old house, immaculately clean and tidy. It was a bit awkward when we first arrived because we were unsure of where to park. You can only check in at 3-9 and we were going to the races at 2pm we did ring the bell and the lady answered she was a bit stressed because she was busy but gave us a parking permit and said we can park in any A zone - maybe this could be explained better on the website. I did call 3 days before and left a message but no one called me back. However...

Stuart and Catherine were warm hosts and attentive to our every need, from a cup of tea and cake at check in, to the homemade gin and biscuits in the room, to the fantastic breakfast. They also provided great advice on where to eat and what to do in the surrounding area.The view from the room was spectacular. We can't wait to return! "

"Wasn’t aware until shortly before our visit that we’d booked during the Appleby Horse Fair so following a Police advisory, they weren’t selling alcohol. Which was a shame as I like to drink local brewery beer when away, but we were allowed to bring our own bottles. In all other respects, our stay was amazing!"
