"The room was clean and house keeping attended daily. The building is very old as I suspect many in the area are. The bathroom was very small and one of the taps in the shower was broken. It came out of the wall in my hand. There was soap supplied. The heat pump was very good for air conditioning. The beds were adequate but very uncomfortable mattresses for both. The area is secure and in the heart of shopping districts and restaurants. There is no elevator and our room was on the third floor so...
"The hotel was very basic, but the room was clean. The hotel room was basically empty, no nighstands etc. only a bed and a plastic chair. So not many amenities but if you only need to sleep and take a flight, it is clean and that is all you need. The breakfast is not very gluten-free friendly, so if you are celiac just a note; it is a lot of pastries, bread etc. The AC was working and the staff was good."

The property is a vintage hotel look but could use some updating in rooms with some fresh carpeting and maybe some repairs to some of the walls. Overall very clean. Staff was very helpful. "My stay at Hotel Vice Rei was wonderful! If you are good on foot, everything is within a walkable distance. Walking to Rua da Cedofeita and Rua do Rosário takes around 15–20 minutes (10–15 if you're a quick walker like me).
Just like other reviewers said, the hotel is a bit outdated, but that doesn't take away from its charm; it brings a warm, cozy vibe. Just be mindful of a bit of noise from the pipes/toilets.

"J'étais dans un dortoir à 4 femmes. La chambre était très petite et l'air conditionné arrivait directement sur les femmes qui couchaient en haut donc elles la fermaient et il faisait extrêmement chaud.
Il y a eu 3 jours sans eau chaude mais pour le reste c'était bien et très bien situé"
"Easy to get to. Access was easy via code. Wasnt aware there wouldnt be a manned reception when booking. Superficially clean room but not if inspected ie around back of toilet/top shelves. No internal door lock or chain. Not all the lights worked including the main bedroom light. Bathroom fan went continuously and had no off switch. They also removed my bin after my second night for some reason (it was empty). Also, windows must be single glaze."
