The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The full English breakfast was great.

We decide to stay at Molton, not York due to the relatively higher price of the York hotel and our trip plan. It proves to be a good choice. The property located in a small and quiet town with about 10-15 minutes walk to the railway station. It may look normal from outside but when you step in, you would be impressed by the warm and cozy atmosphere. The first floor is the restaurant and a bar, with so many selections. The room was super clean and you can tell everything was so well maintained. ...

We loved staying here! The bed was so comfortable! The breakfast was great! Service was fabulous! It did not have an elevator and the kind man at the desk carried our bags up for us! That’s service!

We stayed three nights at the Rose and Crown in August 2016. We were welcomed by Johnny, the accommodations manager who immediately showed us to our room, and then helped us carry up our luggage. Room 3 looks out on the street, is clean and pleasant, and is just big enough for two! The bed is most comfortable, and the en-suite bath is large and modern. The entire staff here is warm and welcoming, the food is great, and the building is marvelous. The location is also perfect, just outside the...

The room was lovely and spacious and clean, had everything you needed. The bed was super comfy with lovely soft bedding. The bathroom was amazing, lovely big space with both a walk in shower and roll top bath. The bath takes a long time to fill but it’s absolutely worth it. The host was so friendly and attentive, went absolutely above and beyond and catered to my dairy allergy. Would not hesitate to rebook if I return to the area in future

This was our first stop on a week long drive through England and Scotland, and we could not have been more pleased! The staff was incredibly welcoming and presented a wonderful overview of York so we could explore. The room was lovely, and breakfast was amazing. Thank you for a fantastic introduction to our week in the UK!

The property was located in a very nice little city outside of Edinburgh. It was only a short walk to the train to Edinburgh. Our host was very informative about things to do and see. The property was well maintained and very clean. I will stay there again if I ever get back to Edinburgh. A car is not necessary, which was wonderful. As an American who is not used to left hand driving on narrow lanes, I was happy to keep my rental car parked until we left for England.

The staff and grounds were amazing. Loved the garden and the character of Gray’s Court. The bed and mattress in our room are in need of an upgrade as the mattress sagged a bit and the bed frame croaked with every motion.

Very good breakfast to set me up for my day at work. Friendly owners, allowed me to take some cooking apples from their tree.

We really enjoyed this hotel, great staff and breakfast. Good location easy walk to attractions. Hope to return someday. Recommend highly. No lift, so try for lower floor when booking.

Absolutely amazing location, wonderful spacious quiet rooms and lovely staff! Will definitely be back to stay.

This hotel is located in a great location. Close to the train station and the Old town. We were impressed with our room, the friendly staff, and the cleanliness.

Very convenient place to stay if visiting York. Two minute walk to the walled city. Nice, offstreet, parking at a very reasonable price. Staff couldn't be friendlier. Would definitely stay there again if we went back.

Excellent food.

Waggon and Horses is a charming Bed and Breakfast. The rooms are located over a (200? 300? 500? year old) pub, although not *directly* over the pub so that there was no problem with sounds coming up from below. The room was comfortable with a good radiant heat and windows that opened for fresh air. The beds were comfortable and the ensuite clean and functional. The slanted beamed ceiling and overall charm of the room and building (and York itself) made us want to stay an extra night. ...

It is in a beautiful old Georgian Home that has its quirks but is quite warm and friendly. The chef in the restaurant was excellent as was the service. The view from the street-facing rooms is spectacular!
