"We went in late May, so before the main season. The hotel is lovely, comfortable rooms - book one with a sea view, it's amazing. The pool was fabulous, plenty of seating and sunbeds. Good parking arrangements. Staff are friendly and willing to help. If there was an area for I would suggest some alternatives to the baked sweet goods, although if you have a sweet tooth, you're in for a treat. Eggs were available on request and they were good. "We ended a Ciclismo Classico bike tour in Maratea and so enjoyed the relaxing surroundings at La Locanda delle Donne Monache. We tagged on 2 extra nights at the hotel…I could have remained there for an entire week!! The only “downgrade” is the firmness of the mattresses ( we stayed in 2 different rooms). I found the mattresses throughout our tour across southern Italy to be quite firm. No big deal, though, as we slept soundly and comfortably at La Locanda."

"Soggiorno piacevole, camere pulite e personale molto professionale. Note dolenti: letto matrimoniale composto da due letti singoli , stanza non insonorizzata e assenza di tapparelle per ridurre la luce nelle prime ore del mattino. "We had an amazing stay! Checked in a little late in the afternoon and pool was closing, but they made an exception and allowed up to enjoy the pool. Drinks on the pool deck were amazing! The beach club was fabulous and food was great! We were treated like royalty! Truly impressed and will definitely visit again! Scalea has beautiful beaches and now one of our favorite spots! "

"Het hotel zou sluiten voor de winterperiode de dag na onze boeking. Dit vernamen we bij de receptie bij aankomst toen we een tweede nacht wilden boeken. Het hotel leek verlaten. Geen mogelijkheid om gebruik te maken van het restaurant zowel voor diner als voor ontbijt. We boekten de duurste kamer omwille van het prachtige uitzicht. Bij het betreden van de kamer was er geen warm water noch verwarming. Het was er meer dan kil, het was er koud. Na vraag werd het warm water aangezet maar we moesten...

"Borgo fiuzzi resort è una gradevole struttura posta sul mare, la piscina è molto bella immersa in un giardino molto curato con adiacente un bar molto carino. "What a joke. They advertise all these wonderful amenities and when we arrived there was absolutely nothing available. No spa, no beach, no tennis, no laundry facilities, no hair salon. We would never have stayed here if we had know. When we complained they offered us a free drink! I have complained through the hotel and the refuse to respond and tried to get a refund from Expedia with no luck. Don't go to this hotel if you are expecting lots to do.....there is nothing!"

"We arrived early but the room was ready. We received the warmest welcome. By all the staff. Not the most modern hotel , but immaculately clean..the pool area is nice, it has amazing views of the coast, and stunning sunsets. We we're full board, not something we normally have but the food was excellent..Lucia is a very young owner, a lovely man. I wish him well, he and his team deserve to do well"

"A lovely quiet and relaxing place. Very helpful and considerate staff. The beach and sea was clean and the water very clear and safe. Everyone was very helpful and patient with our beginners Italian. Rosa was amazingly kind and helpful during our stay and we would recommend visiting this peaceful Gem. "
