"Based on the price it was ideal as all I wanted was to break a long journey for a few hours sleep. Everything was clean. The furnishings are dated but then you can't have both plush decor and a low price. I did hate having to wade through cigarette smoke and vape clouds to get into the hotel. Why do guests congregate around entrances to pursue these disgusting habits. "

"I enjoyed my stay at Norcroft Guest House. The staff members are kind. I was able to check-in early and was so grateful for that. I was offered a slice of lemon cake on arrival (delicious!) and offered fruit to take on my last morning when I wasn't going to be there for breakfast. The breakfast was tasty and delivered to my room at the time I requested. I would definitely stay here again if ever in Penrith in the future. Thank you! "Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Family room was spacious and excellently cleaned. For the price it was very reasonable. 2 minutes to railway station , and bars and eating houses. An excellent location for all amenities. Take into consideration that this building is very old but kept to good standard . Loads and loads of towels for one night stay. If in Carlisle again I would definitely stay here everything you need on the doorstep"

"It’s hard to comment properly as we arrived late in the dark but even still the staff on the desk were so friendly greeting us, and super helpful and understanding when I realised I’d made a mistake with the booking. It’s lovely and quiet despite being so close to the motorway. Immediately put at ease and reassured that it’s a great place to stay, even if as it is for us just an overnight stopover mid journey. "

"Greeted by the owner as we stepped through the front door, shown straight to our room which was immaculately clean then showed me were to park my car. Overall he was extremely helpful told us of a restaurant to go for an evening meal which turned out to be very good, breakfast was excellent. If I am passing that way again then I would definitely return."
