"The staff and pool are absolutely fantastic with plenty to do. We didn't get take the opportunity to explore the 'Island of Stars' as the main pool wasn't uncomfortably busy and we were only on a reasonably short stay. Also cant comment on the food as we ate out each day with friends who live locally. Unfortunately the rooms (or at least the one I was in) are in a need of a bit of a refresh although this could be easily achieved. Our room could have done with being a little more spacious and it was a little bizarre how the middle door on the wardrobe was fixed shut (although we did choose a basic room). Was also a little odd how there was a door frame on the one wall which had just been blocked in with plasterboard, but the door architrave left in situ? No issues with hot water availability and the cleaners are constantly working away to keep the communal areas and rooms as clean as possible (With the exception of the communal shower... to be covered separately). On the final day it was our intention to use the downstairs communal shower as our airport shuttle wasn't until 5pm. We checked on the facilities early in the day and found them to have a foul sewage smell. At that time there were two people showering and one was literally heaving at the smell! Later in the afternoon we found raw sewage spewing from the toilets and all over the floor in the mens toilets in particular. Staff were aware and just said it would be cleaned tomorrow. "

"Lovely stay at Gloria Palace royal, hopefully these words help: - taxi from the airport is around 70€ - breakfast is fantastic, plenty of cooked options and the freshly made omelette was a favourite of ours. - rooms are spacious and overlook the beach, but are starting to look a little dated. - maid comes everyday if you leave the sign on the door and brings 500ml of still and sparkling water. - there is no iron or ironing room…this was the biggest annoyance as we had to then pay for the ironing, so 7€ a dress and 5€ a shirt as example can soon add up. So either take your own iron or be prepared to pay. That said, the ironed clothes was returned in 24 hours (but could take 48)!! - hotel is spotlessly cleaned. - infinity pool is great and has a water dispenser, so take a refillable bottle, it helps! - pool towels are provided free of charge which is a good touch (but expected from a nice hotel) - no shop in the hotel, but a small spar shop is close, otherwise there are some limited vending machines placed around the hotel! - staff are friendly and helpful! - evening entertainment is ok, otherwise Puerto Rico is about 7€ in a taxi. Overall, would recommend but make sure you take an iron!! "

"Excellent choice of breakfast"

"Property is very clean although it was a little tired. The pool loungers and outside chairs were old with frayed fabric, electrical sockets were loose as were the WC flushes. The TV was old and not a smart TV with the advertised Satellite TV (from a fire stick) not working and not replaced / acted upon by the Agent. The pool is small (as expected) so never used although smelt heavily of chlorine. That said we (4 adults) had an enjoyable holiday. The nearby Spar shop was adequate for essentials and the Hyperdino was a 5 minute drive away as was the excellent sand beach of Okaya Del Amores. The Tauro grill bar also served excellent food whilst we informed by a couple of golfer that the course on which the Villa sits is a good one."

"My third time at the hotel. A great property in a good location for walking to the beach or the commercial centre."

"Fast and reliable internet. Extremely comfortable accommodation. Very comfortable beds and powerful showers with more than plenty of hot water. A great host of a property which feels extremely secure and has everything needed for an enjoyable stay. A great on site restaurant which can’t be missed and a Spar supermarket that does not have ‘tourist prices’ We will be returning for sure! "

"Lovely villa. Well equipped with everything you need. Area is really quiet. Several heavy ran showers when we were there, which caused the electricity to trip many, many times. This would indicate an issue with one of the external lights. The property manager just said “ I can’t control the rain.” With food in the fridge and freezer this was not helpful. Most of the year the canaries are dry so won’t affect many people, we just didn’t appreciate his attitude. Apart from this our stay was great. "
