"Really nice hotel. Room was really hot but it was a heat wave and probably not a problem most of the time. Staff were so friendly and helpful especially in the pub for dinner and breakfast. Easy access to train station and travel in to London. Was a nice place to stay outside of all the business. Easy access to Stansted airport too. Would definitely stay again."

"We arrived at about 730pm and were greeted by a very sweet receptionist. Our room was clean and quiet, with an incredibly comfortable king size bed! As it was summer, we were also provided a portable fan in the room, should it become too warm. We had a great dinner at the Feathers Pub and a swift check out in the morning. Highly recommend staying here!"

"The Location of the Pub was Perfect and the pub looked great (didn’t eat) . The room we stayed in and looking at the other reviews seems to be the same story, Tired, Dirty, lacking basics and need some investment."

"As an older property built in 1799 it was wonderful. The building was quaint and clean. It was outdated in decoration but that is what adds to it's charm. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The biggest issue we had was the water pressure. Our shower was barely a trickle and made it hard to take a shower. Otherwise our stay was Wonderful!"

"Our room was very hot. We realise there is a heatwave, but the windows wouldn’t open much to bring in any additional air. The bedding was not clean, hairs on the linen. The shower was blocked and would overflow from the shower tray. I had to stop the shower 4 times to give it time to drain, and had to declog the shower of hair from the previous guests. The bathroom floor was sticky, the hooks had broken off and so there wasn’t really anywhere to hang a towel as they hung on the floor on the...
