"Such a shame that the White Bear is not currently open as a pub or restaurant. Had to walk up the street to their sister pub to check in and then let myself into the building through the side door. The lack of staff at the property is a massive downer and had it been noted on Hotels.com that it wouldn’t be manned, I wouldn’t have booked here. The room was pretty clean but small as you’d expect from a single. The toilet uses a macerator which is also plumbed into the shower meaning it will run the whole time you’re in the shower - apologies to the neighbours!"

"Perfect escape and perfectly placed to explore beautiful North Yorkshire and beyond. Surprise welcome pack with all sorts of delicious treats, even the dogs got one! Great circular walk by the stream from the doorstep and driving in any direction offered breathtaking views. The cottage was so tastefully presented and spotless throughout. Lovely neighbours too, we could have stayed on another week. Will recommend to family and friends Looking forward to a return visit… thank you so much"
