"Stayed for 1 night, overall it was a positive experience. Room was a bit too warm even after we'd adjusted the temperature control. Went to breakfast around 0930, this must have been after their busy period as some of the food, drinks and cups etc needed replenishing so a wait for our choice was had. Throughout staff we're pleasant and helpful, hotel also in a great central location. Would return if staying in Newcastle. "

"Standard triple room in former Carlton Hotel block. Mould / brown dirt on ceiling above door. Bathroom has a floor tile that just lifted up in front of sink. Suspicious stains on throws and cushions. Bathroom black mould all over grout in bath. Bath panel peeling. Staff excellent but a terrible terrible hotel. "

"Somewhere to put your head down … clean, warm, cheap. Breakfast was available at the Beefeaters across the road (completely unrelated business) … went to Greggs."

"The room felt a little old. The bathroom had a leaking tap in the bath and a broken tap in the sink. However the room was a good temperature and the beds were comfortable. The staff were lovely. We had a meal in the bar which was yummy! "

"Spinning classes every morning really early on. Heavy base music thumping through the floor. No sockets or charge points near bedside table. Rm 116. Really disappointing stay as other village hotels have been alot better quality "
