We had a great time. This is our 9th time coming to the NC mountains during this time of the year. I can tell it was our best cabin. This Cupid cabin has it all. Our kids loved it!!!!! Definitely we’re coming back next year. Thank you!!!!
Stunning views and a short drive to town. Road up the mountain wasnt as bad as some reviews stated. We have experienced worse roads before. House was well equipped. The best equipped
The views were outstanding. House was well appointed and kitchen was we stocked. My granddaughter loved all the games available including the swing outside. Road to the house was a bit rough but owner warned this could be a problem in the winter. The house was very comfortable and very clean. Can't ask for more
We had a great stay at this cozy cabin! Everything was well-maintained, and the surroundings were beautiful. However, future visitors should be aware that snow can make it challenging to drive up the hill. It’s essential to have a car equipped for snowy conditions. If you’re renting a car, we highly recommend choosing a Subaru or another all-wheel-drive vehicle to ensure a smooth experience. Overall, it was a wonderful getaway, and we’d definitely come back!
Beautiful, spacious home located on the very top of the mountain with year-round spectacular unobstructed view!
Kitchen perfectly equipped with everything you will need. Comfortable chairs, sofa, beds and bed linens. Plenty of large soft towels. Loved that both decks were high and secure with NO stairs which allowed for secure sleeping with open doors and no worries about our dog escaping.
We will definitely be back!
Thank you for sharing your home with us. We were only there a short time but enjoyed the home and views were spectacular. Very well equipped, but get food you want before you go up. The road in is the only negative. A very easy fix, but needs attention. Thank you again.
The cabin was well stocked for cooking and the views were great. The Cupid/Bear/Christmas theme was fun and made it very charming inside.I do think they should re-upholster a few chairs as the fabric was ripped and did not look very nice. The Wifi was so bad we couldn't get the football games consistently, but we made it work. We all wished we could have stayed a few more days to relax and truly unwind. Overall a great weekend with our family!
We enjoyed our stay at Cupids retreat. We stayed for 4 nights and view from the house was spectacular. Sunrise view is cinematic. House has everything that a family needs. We requested a few things and those were arranged quickly. Overall a 5* experience.
Going to the house is slightly tricky as it’s extremely uphill and only a 4 wheel drive can pass through and reach the top. Some elevations are at 45 degrees. We went in July peek summer hence managed to drive through with a bmw x7 and 6 passengers. Winters may be tough . Overall we as a family had best experience.
This cabin is charming with an amazing view. The kitchen is fully stacked with utensils. Bathrooms and bedrooms have everything you need. Also, they do not show a ton of pictures of the loft, but it was an amazing play room for our kids. Games, mini cars, air hockey, bean bag chair. The only issue that I had was the road to get up here. It is NO JOKE! Make sure you have someone who is comfortable with this to drive them and possibly 4 wheel drive.
The drive way was quite treacherous, there had been a lot of wash out! The views were great, felt like the lighting in the bedrooms need to be brighter and and it's time to replace some of the furniture!
We had a great time at the cabin! Our three girls really enjoyed the swing, blocks, and the air hockey table. We loved the view. Definitely recommend a 4 wheel drive for getting to and from the house. Hope to be back soon!
Great stay but we got unexpected snow that turned to ice and kept us grounded to the cabin. I met a wonderful family up the hill that went above and beyond to help us out and got us up and down the icy roads to the asphalt road so that we could head home. What a blessing they were. The cabin was wonderful and we enjoyed it completely. Just be aware of the snow and ice conditions because they will sneak up on you and possibly leave you stuck at the cabin. It made some memories that we will be talking about for years to come.
1st... the road and driveway are not for the inexperienced driver. Its super steep and rough in places. Id give ut a No Go during the winter months. We eventually got used to it in our 2wd Tahoe.
The house is great. Things we would want fixed or changed if we returned:
1 burner on stove didn't work. Patio door in guest room completely rotted out. Need more bath towels. Maybe provide some laundry detergent.
THE WIFI Was Almost UNUSABLE. Ugh, we needed it for all the kids phones, our laptops for work and the smart TV's on site.
The beds are wonderful. House is great overall. Just address a few small things
House was an overall good value. We enjoyed our stay (just with less technology than usual at night)
Cute cabin with amazing views! We needed a place that allowed dogs and it was a perfect place for them to roam around.(note: 35 a day per pet and there is a 2 pet limit) …All reviews mention the rough road up the mountain-however, the listing itself does not accurately relay how rough it is -so be prepared! The views are totally worth it though. The kitchen is fully stocked with the things you will need for any meal you may want to cook and there are tons of TVs and things to entertain yourself with. (Internet is ok, not amazing) Our main issue was with the water -or lack of! Low pressure when we arrived, quickly turned to NO water at all. We communicated immediately with the rental company and we were very surprised at the amount of time it took them to respond AND their seeming lack of concern that we had no water. When they did reach out to us it was many hours later. To make a long story short -we arrived on a Thursday and finally got water on Sunday. Thankfully the neighbors were VERY helpful and let us use their water to fill jugs. The nearby KOA offered to let us shower there and we bought TONS of bottled water. We continuously reached out to the rental company for updates but they were very hard to reach!!! However I do want to give a “shout out” to Nyla/ Nila? who did follow up (with concern) for our dilemma. After talking to the neighbor -we learned that there is somewhat of a water shortage on that mountain so maybe that was part of the problem.
