"Hi we stayed for three nights arrived to find no towels had been left, shower despenser han not been filled, also no cups and spoons in room for making a drink, yes they have a kitchen you can get stuff from, but would expect these in our room. we found some towels on a chair on the landing, we did text the number and rang but no reply. overall ok but pay more attention to detail."

"Unfortunately builders had been since the owner had last been to the property and getting to the key box was quite difficult with bags of sand and a pallet in the way. With 10 of us staying with 3 cars parking was abit of a nightmare( didn’t know it was Regatta weekend) The house has great views from the back, and newly refurbed bathrooms , please note there is no bbq, just a fire pit, with no grill. Paul was great at answering our queries and apologised for the sand bags! A few things slightly annoying only 9 chairs at table and it says high chair available, but it is one that sits on a chair , meaning only 8 chairs for dining if you use it! Would make sense to bring chairs from top bedroom to dining table and put a couple of comfy chairs up there to admire the view . Outdoors the table only seats 8 not ideal when there are 10 people! Bin outside was half full on arrival so we had to leave bags of rubbish outside.As others have mentioned stairs down to the kitchen are very narrow and steep, unavoidable but worth mentioning. Kitchen is fully stocked but could do with a big saucepan for cooking for 10 ! We all enjoyed our stay and was great for the weekend get together."

"Our summer holiday at Captain's Cottage (mum, dad, two teenage boys, and grandma) was extra special. After parking our large SUV in the garage (a huge bonus), we exited its back door to breathtaking views across the harbour. The steps down to the house were steep, make no mistake, but grandma managed them with her stiff knees - just need to hold on to the rail. The house was amazing - clean, lovely decor, and very well equipped - and provided similar amazing views of the harbour from both the lounge and the balcony of the master bedroom, where you could sit and watch the world go by. The location was fantastic - close to the harbour with its superb restaurants. The walk back up to the house from the harbour was a challenge - grandma and I lagged behind as my fit wife and kids stormed ahead - but the steps were a price worth paying for the gorgeous views you get back at the house. Wonderful to see Brixham lit up in the evening. My family's been on some fine holidays in Italy and France but this holiday was our favourite - great town (more charm than the other towns of Torbay) and a wonderful holiday home. Highly recommend Captain's Cottage."

"I recently stayed here and overall had a really lovely experience. The room had everything you needed and was very comfortable. The bathroom was great, the setting was beautiful, and the outlook from the property was genuinely lovely. There are just a few things worth noting for future guests. When walking up from outside, people using the stairs could see into the bathroom area, so privacy might be something to be aware of. I also noticed that when other guests were in the property you could hear quite a lot — particularly doors closing and people moving around. The Wi-Fi could really do with improving, as the connection was quite weak during my stay. The coffee machine was a nice touch, but unfortunately there were no pods available and it looked like it could probably do with a bit of a clean. The general cleaning was good, but when looking a little closer — behind things or when moving items slightly — it seemed like those areas hadn’t been cleaned for a while. One thing I personally found a little stressful was the keypad entry system. Having to punch in the codes each time, rather than using a key or card, made me feel slightly uneasy coming and going as I was travelling on my own. That said, it’s a beautiful place to stay and the space itself is really well equipped. With just a few small tweaks and a bit more attention to detail, it could easily be excellent."
