"Very tired, shabby and in need of upgrade ... which they are working on. I read on reviews 'nice views', which i couldn't see through the dirty windows. 'Restaurant on premises' was closed due to renos so we had to go down the windy mountain road into town for dinner and breakfast (The Town Tavern in Banner Elk was excellent). Carpet desperately needs changing. What they could clean they did ... clean comfy bed (but a Murphy bed? how do you clean behind that? You don't! ). New shower curtain ... thank you. Shower head is awf. Linens clean. My suggestion, wait until renos are done and then give it a try ... there's potential"

"The host was amazing. He was quick to respond wherever I messaged and was on top of any issues. Fireplace wouldn’t light and he sent someone out right away to fix. The deer were so amazing to feed and watch. Would definitely stay again. Only negative was internet wouldn’t connect so we were unable to watch any TV. "

"This was an amazing home. Beautiful views through the floor to ceiling windows in great room and kitchen/dining area. We were blessed with a 5” - 6” snowfall. Unbelievable view through those widows as the snow fell for hours. Home was very clean and all of our expectations were met and exceeded. Had a small problem with hot water in the master suite but we just was patient and all was fine. "

"The house was fine. It was like the ad described. Nicely decorated and spacious and really ample space for each guest. One big sore in our entire day was the fact that we didn’t find out until 40 minutes before our check-in that the main floor deck would be off-limits of having the entire deck be replaced and the reasoning that we could not be on this brand new deck was that it had not been inspected yet which I can appreciate but there’s no way they found out about the problem 40 minutes before our check-in, we should have been given days if not weeks notice to make other reservations because the outdoor deck is one of the most used things on our Vacations and also a huge reason why we picked that house because the view from it they did refund some of our stay a little over 10%. I’m appreciative of that but I would’ve rather been able to choose another property that we could’ve used the deck. "
