And our hist and hostess has been so very kind - she even left us a little baked treat since we were here to celebrate both of our birthdays! I would give a 10-star review if I could! "River’s Bend was one of our favorite western VA cabin stays to date. Its location is unique - remote enough for dark skies and the sounds of wildlife, with the thrill of the train when it makes its way through the tunnel under the property. The cabin is so cozy, the beds firm and very comfortable. I slept so well every night. We loved the screened in porch, and the river lookout off the tiered back deck. The host assured our comfort with plenty of blankets, pillows and quilts. Everything was clean and easy to find/use. We hiked the mowed trails and explored the remnants of the last James River Lock on the property. So cool!"

"We did not use Hot Tub. There were 3 doggie beds, ( we call them climbs) in the basement, that was a great addition for our dog as she loves to hang out on them. Very pet friendly, very clean. Convenient to Lexington to see all the history in the town. The drive out to the house is awesome, very remote but we still felt very safe. Deer were everywhere. Big yard for the dog to play as well. We would definitely stay here again."

"The cabin was absolutely amazing. It felt like being at home. It was in a perfect location and it was super comfortable. I will be using this a lot when I come into Covington to fish. It was great."
