The Lion Inn was one of the most charming Inn's I have stayed in. The rooms are charming- you approach yours as if it is your own little cottage. Inside, they are cheerful and bright and have the latest in sleeping accommodations and amenities. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The pub is wonderful, The cuisine is delicious and contemporary, and the servers are lovely and efficient. The Inn is located near the Grade I church of St. Oswalds, -a two-minute walk away. This place was amazing. Fresh cooked breakfast, comfortable bed. The staff was amazing and friendly. 5 stars! Our only regret is not staying here longer.

This was a true guesthouse experience. I felt like I was visiting an old friend and was treated with remarkable generosity and kindness. The house is charming and well located. My bedroom was cozy and clean and lovely in every way. Breakfast was delicious especially the fresh fruit bowl.

This was our first night in our UK trip and was arguably the best place we could stay to introduce us to this country. Our room was small but the stone walls and lovely decor made it feel simultaneously rustic and contemporary. The bathroom was well designed and had a wonderful shower that was just what we needed after 15 hours of travel. The bed was a dream, I haven’t slept that well in a long time. This was an amazing treat! Four sisters coming together from all sides of the globe to have a fun countryside experience! We booked the family suite and it was perfect! From the arrival glass of bubbles to the evening meal and audio house tour - amazing! Wish we had stayed longer!

Every member of staff that I dealt with was SO helpful and couldn't do enough to provide a great service. The room was spacious and clean, with lovely finishing touches. The setting is really beautiful - in the middle of the countryside and fields. The breakfast that was included was absolutely delicious.

The room, especially the bath and shower, were excellent. Breakfast was outstanding in a comfortable, well-lit room. Wifi was very good. Good car park.

Perfect location (two minute walk to daughter's house); excellent breakfasts, particularly the porridge; fun pub downstairs, loved a cappella rehearsal.

Quaint and charming. Quiet and just off the beaten path enough for privacy. The staff was very gracious and we particularly enjoyed the garden setting

This property was situated right on the river with outdoor seating at picnic tables if desired.

Super friendly welcome by the hosts. The room was large and comfortable and we really enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the horses. The pub in the village was about a 5 minute drive away and was fantastic.

Great overnight stay for us. Dinner was amazing and so was breakfast. Made our "Favorites" list (only 2/2 in all of the UK).
