"A basic hotel with a beautiful view of a lake full of wildlife. The Waterbird does not offer a lot amenities but it is clean and there are plenty of places to eat nearby. It is near the Dunelands and a good stage to run into Chicago. Bring binoculars for the birds."

"Gave us a 2 queen room instead of a king, would’ve preferred the other. The front desk didn’t allow late checkout even though the manager said it was okay a few days prior. I probably won’t go back."

"Horrible stay my mothers in a walker with a messed up foot she just had surgery on and she had to crawl up stairs because the elevator was done and they wouldn’t accommodate us then proceeded to laugh and embarrass my mother because she had to crawl up the stairs literally laughed in her face our room had stains on the walls couch and beds and one of the tvs didn’t work also this was the most horrible experience we have ever had at a hotel "

"The entrance and hallway carpet was very dirty, the toilet in my room had no water, everytime I used the card key it malfunctioned the next time, door handle on room was ready to fall off, the elevator did not work, the wash machine was out of order, over all just a terrible place to stay. RD"
