"It was… okay. The only source of water was a communal water jug in the lobby that often times went without being refilled the entire day. One of our keys worked fine, the other was spotty. At one point both keys stopped working, along with two others guests at the same time. While we were getting the keys reset another guest shared that a random person banged on her door and insisted that they worked for the hotel and needed let in- front desk had no idea about it. On the day of our check out a random employee walked into the room without knocking or announcing themselves. When they realized we were still in the room they left without saying anything… Also when we asked for ice we were directed to the staff only area in a back hallway and told we’d need to bring a bag because they didn’t have anything for us to transport. So we emptied our toiletry bag to get ice. Stay was fine for $85 a night but I would not pay anything more. "

"Room was clean. Staff was friendly. It was unfortunately unseasonably warm in DC so the room was pretty hot and the hotel could not turn on the ac as it was too early in the year. The staff was really friendly and understanding, told us to open the windows and provided a fan. But there were no outlets near the windows so the fan could blow in cool air, plus one of our windows wouldnt stay open (they only open a tiny bit). A maintenance person eventually came and wedged something under the window to keep it open. Its a nice hotel in a convenient location, but with the lack of hot food, and the issues with the heat I dont think it's worth the price esp if you go around the time the seasons are changing when you may not have heat or air. I do appreciate them giving us a discount for the inconvenience "

"This historic building is delightfully charming offering spacious rooms. The water pressure and temperature in the shower is the best I have enjoyed in an older building. The location is near a multitude of restaurants serving diverse cuisine and within walking distance of many points of interest in DC. Staff are friendly and helpful. I'm booking with them again to see the Washington National Opera which now performs at the Lisner Auditorium."

"We were in D.C. for a long weekend getaway. We arrived at The Hamilton 3 hours before check-in time anticipating to have our luggage put in the luggage hold. We were pleasantly surprised to be told that our room was available. The lobby area was beautiful, and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Our room was a reasonable size, and very clean. The hotel is very conveniently located - 1 block away from the closest Metro Station (McPherson Square) and blocks away from many of the areas we were heading."
