Which hotel doesn’t accept Apple Pay in 2025!? I got asked to pay a deposit at check-in even with the stay fully paid. I was happy to do so but I didn’t have a physical credit card with me. I only had Apple Pay which staff said they didn’t take “per hotel policy”. They asked me to withdraw cash as alternative. Again, not easy if I don’t carry bank card as we live in a (almost) cashless society. So, they said this would be the only way for me to check-in. Here I was with only my 5 year old daughter without a hotel to stay. Even worse, it was my daughter’s birthday. The staff lack empathy and said there was nothing he could do. I left and managed to transfer money to a kind person at the supermarket who agreed to withdraw the cash for me so I could check in at the hotel. Terrible experience! I would expect better from Novotel part of Accor Group.
