"The Blue View Cabins offer a well thought out self-catering experience in an area which allows you to beat the tour groups to key sites on the Golden Circle. To top it off, each cabin is equipped with a private geothermically heated hot tub. The accommodation is well furnished and well finished in a modern style, and the whole was very clean. "Stunning views. The heated pool and hot tubs are great. Good breakfast. They let me into the room early which was great because I was exhausted. If you’re looking for luxury with the most updated decor this isn’t that."

"Basic utilitarian hotel with a good breakfast. Line up for morning coffee was a mild annoyance but more than made up for by the breakfast. Room was basic, clean and comfortable. No frills save the bath robes and slippers. Location was excellent for a multi day visit to the golden circle. Our stay included some vouchers for the wine bar at the green houses that neighbor the hotel. Well worth a visit. I would return again when touring the area. "

"We booked this cabin many months ago, before current construction projects began. Unfortunately, the view now is of a cluster of cabins being built in front of it. It was very disappointing since we booked it based on previous reviews. The view is what you count on when in Iceland, and this cabin no longer offers what we expected. We ended up leaving early and staying elsewhere."

"Stayed here for a night as a couple - absolutely LOVED it. Air in the bubble room was cool inside (despite it being sunny and warm outside). Linens were super high quality. No one else there; it was off-season (May). We only had four hours of darkness, but the trees provided shading and it was easy to get a great night sleep. Bathrooms & showers are < 1 minute walk away at the service hut. Free WiFi and coffee at the hut. Self check in. To address concerns we read in other reviews (1) Hot shower...

"Unit was comfortable , immaculate. One drawback was as that the room got extremely hot from sun exposure and there were only 2 small windows . A fan would be a nice addition. "

"There are games and chessboard in the cottage, so children were happy and busy while i could cook. "

"The is a charm to the property and the dining experience. The dogs and cat were a plus for our animal loving family. We initially reserved for 2 nights but had a change in flights and could only stay one night. While we knew it was non-refundable, there was no communication from the staff despite our messaging them ahead of time."

"Photos can not capture the beautiful scenery at the villa. You are surrounded by nature and the view of the Northern Lights surrounds the area when they are dancing. Our teens, young adults, middle-aged, and senior family members were all able to enjoy the spacious layout. Travel to local sights is easy and worth it in order to be in the tranquil quiet by the lake. I highly recommend staying here. The owners are wonderful hosts."
