Our stay at Cabin on the Creek is one we will cherish forever. Everything about the listing was as described and so much more. It was very spacious with a bathroom for every room. The kayak's and canoe were so much fun and super convenient. Just an all around amazing experience only a quick drive from Austin.
Wonderful property! Cabin was so nice. The owners do a fantastic job. We had a fire in the fire pit and played croquet. The kitchen is big enough for cooking and socializing. The upper and lower porches were perfect for sitting outside. And the sunset was gorgeous!
Our family and friends have been planning our stay for the eclipse viewing for over a year. We stayed at the wonderful Cabin on the Creek about 45 minutes from Waco, where we planned to view. It was a perfect relaxation spot that was just a short drive away from our eclipse viewing spot. Very private, very clean, everything provided for family meals. We highly recommend it.
The house was plenty big for us and my daughter and grand kids. The game room/bedroom was a big hit with my two grandsons, as well as the TV room. The kayaks were great fun. Did not catch fish, but enjoyed trying.
We had an amazing time during our stay. Didn’t check on expected water levels so didn’t have the opportunity to use the boats - disappointed but truly a seasonal issue. I miscalculated the bedrooms so slept on the couch - only two bedrooms downstairs and two sleeping areas above but not actual bedrooms w doors. Had plenty to make thanksgiving dinner and we enjoyed the family time. Would love to stay again esp if a fence is up so we can spend more time in the backyard wo dog concerns. Overall a great place for our extended family of 8 w pets.
We don’t have words to describe how incredible it was to spend Christmas with our pets at this cabin. It’s so warm, cozy, and welcoming that you truly don’t want to leave. The space is amazing and very well equipped. We had such wonderful moments here, and we can’t wait to come back soon. Thank you for providing us with such a special experience at your place.
Our 4-generation family loved this Cabin on the Creek! We enjoyed all of the amenities: campfire, croquet & horseshoes, relaxing on the porch, TV's for football watching, games for all ages, beautiful decorations, clean and comfortable bedrooms, reading books from the little library, etc. We had great communication with the Hostess. Would definitely like to come back!!
Beautiful cabin with tons to do for kids and adults alike
Father's Day at its finest with campfire, smores, grill, dip in the lake, board games, wildlife and a beautiful rustic cabin equipped with everything one might need. Wonderful host!
We had a wonderful time at the cabin this past weekend; the neighborhood was quiet, and the house was terrific for relaxing. The kitchen had everything needed to make our meals, and the bed was comfortable. The host was super responsive to our questions. We'll definitely stay at the cabin again when we are in the area.
We all needed to get away. The “littles” loved fishing in the back and seeing deer, birds, frogs, turtles..,
Thank you
Cindy A.

Disliked: Location
Everything was as advertised. The upstairs was uncomfortably warm (too hot). The septic system was slow but didn't overflow; thankfully. Having grown up on a septic tank system, I kinda understand, but...! I wouldn't recommend this house to anyone planning to use either of the upstairs bedrooms this summer, they are just too hot.. The two downstairs ones as well as the living area and kitchen area were fine. Overall, we enjoyed our stayl
Very comfortable feeling , We had plenty of things to do. Your games were a hit my grandson loved the Grumpy cat book and his twin the antique history book.I saw different touches throughout the cabin making it homey. Thanks for helping with good times we enjoyed.
This adorable Cabin is a perfect getaway for a family. The owner has is decorated and “labeled” so well! So many little touches that make you feel welcome. Lots of games, books, and inside activities plus the peaceful outdoor activities to keep everyone happy. The kitchen is well stocked to cook. Great gem right on the creek/lake!
We had an awesome time. Cabin was comfortable and had all the amenities. Very quiet location could listen to the animal nightlife all night. Drinking wine by the fire at night and watching all the wildlife in the morning was perfect. Our dog Link liked to just sit on the porch and watch all the birds ….very chill.
Cabin on the Creek was better than we expected. We enjoyed everything! - comfortable beds and furniture, morning coffee with a view and wonderful singing birds, March Madness on DirectTV, only an hour to Waco for a day’s fun, marshmallows and hotdogs over the fire pit, canoeing down the creek to the lake, a plethora of board games/cards and books…the list goes on. Everything was thought of and provided for a very relaxing, comfortable, entertaining time.
The pictures do not do this property justice. The outside pics are charming, and it is, but they make it look small. We have 5 adults, a teen and a tween, so I almost passed for that reason. Actually, it’s big on the inside, it had lots of room for all of us. The beds and linens were very comfy, the kitchen had everything I needed for meal preps, they really thought of everything. When we get together with kids and grandkids like this just to enjoy each other’s company the house and surroundings are central. We want a place that is unique, that has all the attention to detail that makes it feel special. This place was exactly what we wanted. It’s out in the country, on water, but very nice. It’s the nicest “cabin” I’ve ever been in! We spent lots of time in the kayaks. The canoe is not the small kind you have to kneel in, it has 2 seats. You could even fish from it. I loved taking it out onto the lake. There is a place to swim a short drive from the cabin. We went Father’s Day and it was too crowded to get a picnic table in the shade, luckily Lavonne suggested we take their 2 umbrella chairs. We went back Tuesday and had the lake to ourselves. We drove 18 miles to Fort Parker state park and did a short hiking trail that was shaded all the way and ended at their swimming spot. It was on Monday, we had the lake to ourselves again. The lakes are beautiful, I loved kayaking down the creek. It reminded me of the bayou I grew up on. This patch of Texas is just really undiscovered. The internet is iffy so calls and texts don’t always go through right away, just be aware. Lavonne is great about responding right away to questions. She is very helpful. My son and daughter didn’t have any trouble finding the cabin using their pinned google map address, but I like putting an address in Maps or Waze. Both had trouble recognizing the address. Part of the address has LCR in it. I think CR stands for county road. We discovered if you leave out the L maps and Waze can find the cabin.
We weren’t here one of the days Billy B’s was open. I understand it is a must for barbecue. Instead we went to Los Pepe’s Mexican Restaurant in Groesbeck. It was wonderful. I highly recommend the beef fajitas.
I know this is long but I always read all the reviews to pick our vacation spots. I never want to waste a trip. I would definitely come back here!
