"We loved this place so much-it was perfect for tucking in and recovering fr jet lag, with some adventures on the side. It’s a ways fr Hilo and traffic (at least when we were driving) was a lot, but once we got food we loved using it as an outpost. The 5-6 mile round trip hike to shipman’s beach is long, but the payoff is incredible. The trailhead is just a minute drive from the house. Paradise Cliffs is also a beautiful overlook just a 20 minute walk down beach road. So much good stuff so close by. "

"The house was everything we hoped for, and more! Secluded, but also in close proximity to watch sunrise over the ocea, 30 minute ride to Volcanoes NP and Hilo. We spent so much time in the beautiful pool. We also appreciated the pool toys and bikes to explore the neighborhood. There is a beautiful breeze that keeps the house comfortable at all times. Maureen was an excellent host and contacted us to make sure we got in and that everything was going well. We will definitely stay here again!"

"We loved the whale house with its great lanai, view, and water access. A lot of time and attention was spent on this property with a unique garden and probably the best equipped VRBO I’ve stayed in. We enjoyed it very much and would happily stay again!"

"The house was in a really nice quiet neighborhood, we could walk to a pretty clif though some small trail through the woods. Not too far from places to eat/groceries etc. Roosters were waking us up early but that was fine cause we were jet-lagged any ways. Frogs gave us nice chorus which was lulling for sleping.We arrived during a really nasty storm, and the electricity got knocked off but the house had solar backup which operated most of the appliances/fans etc untill power came back. Out hosts were very prompt with our questions during this storm.I would certainly reccomend it and would stay again. "

"This 5-bedroom house is the perfect place for a large family or a group of friends to stay. It is clean, tidy, and comfortable. There is stunning view of ocean to make us happy. I highly recommend it."

"BBQ is disgustingly unusable. Bugs in window sills. No screens on doors to pool. Property very unkept and run down. Very disappointed. I believe we deserve a refund for unusable BBQ grill. Would not rent if we had known the grill was in such bad shape."

Views of the ocean from our deck and a short walk, leads you to the most beautiful spot to watch the sunrise each morning. We enjoyed swimming in the pool and the quiet of this location. The neighbours were so friendly I would wave to you as they walk in the morning. It was easy to get to the main road and to Hilo.
