About this property
Relaxing Waterfront Retreat, renovated modern-rustic, near Asheville -Generac
You may check with hosts if dates are blocked. Welcome to your own cozy riverside retreat! Despite being close to civilization, this home offers plenty of privacy, warmth, and solitude after hitting the trails in Pisgah Forest. Asheville, Hendersonville and Brevard are a stones throw for exploration. Come back and relax on this two acres of riverfront property or enjoy a quiet fire under the stars.
The space is tucked away in a quaint and rural neighborhood. This home offers the perfect blend of peace and solitude while remaining close to all of Asheville‘s conveniences.
The entire space has been meticulously renovated and furnished - drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape. The living area features a charming gas-log fireplace and smart TV. The fully stocked kitchen and dining room have everything you need to prepare anything from a quick morning coffee to a gourmet meal.
Rest peacefully in the spacious master bedroom with en-suite bathroom offering a king size bed, cozy linens, small closet, and book-nook. The second bedroom includes a king memory foam bed, the third bedroom includes a queen. Perfect for families or friends traveling together.
Your stay includes nearly 300 feet of riverfront for swimming tubing or just dipping your toes in. The home is perfect for enjoying the outdoors with 700sq’ feet of covered deck and outdoor wood burning fire-pit to enjoy the nature. The beautiful backyard is designed for healing meditation and yoga, with yoga items provided. There is a fully equipped kitchen, and a pack and play travel crib can be made available by request. Excellent location with grocery store only 8 minutes away.
You will have complete access to the entire home, the front yard, and the backyard described in the listing. This home is 1/2 of a larger property. The other half is a separate three bedroom two bath rental on its own acreage. The two spaces are completely separate but if you need extra elbow room for your stay, feel free to inquire if the additional rental is available.
SUMMER GUESTS 🎆 If you are booking in the summer, please note that the acerage immediately across the river is a private summer camp for children called Camp Highlander. We absolutely adore their fabulous 4th of July fireworks display and find the children charming. If you do not find the occasional evening music, campground PA system or the sound of children laughing and playing charming, this is NOT the summer rental for you! 😊 🐶 For guests traveling with pups that have noise aversion and anxiety - please note that the traditional 4th of July fireworks display put on by the neighbors is EXTREMELY loud and runs late.
WINTER GUESTS ❄️ If you are booking in the WINTER, please note that this is a mountain rental. Although we do not often get snow, there is always a potential for it so please plan accordingly. We do not issue refunds for inclement weather.
Activities in the area:
MILLS RIVER: Mills River is HOPping with breweries! Sierra Nevada Brewery (8 min drive) is one of our favorite places. Anyone that comes to visit, it’s a must. They have an excellent menu and it’s just a really family friendly atmosphere. Often there is live music on a tiered, outdoor auditorium with games for kids and a garden you can walk through.
Mills River Brewery has a beautiful outdoor/dog-friendly seating area and a food truck always on site. *Mills River Brewery, Bold Rock Cidery and Burning Blush Brewery are a stones throw from the house and can all be found within a one-mile radius.
ASHEVILLE: 20-30 minute drive gets you to Asheville. You can spend and entire day checking out the downtown. Asheville is a foodie town and has everything you could imagine! Most locations offer plant-based and gluten free options. One of our favorite spots is Sunny Point Cafe in West Asheville. *Hole donuts was recently rated the second best donut shop in the nation! If you are into breweries, almost all of them have outdoor seating and food trucks as well as outdoor games for kids. On a pretty day, New Belgium for example is perfect for a family stop. For indoor activities: Asheville Science Museum The Biltmore Asheville trampoline center The Grove Park Inn * There are TONS of breweries in the area but Burial Forestry Camp stands our as one of our favorites. Most all breweries in the area have food trucks on site and offer NA options.
HENDERSONVILLE: A 20 minute drive East takes you to the charming town of Hendersonville. *The BEST pizza in the area is Pie Squared, in Hendersonville on 191. (try The Tomato Pie) Hit up the Elijah Craig Gem mine (on 64) for the kids. Once in the downtown area, the parking garage towards north Main Street will give you access to all the quaint shops and restaurants. Make sure to check out Mast General Store and Kilwins Chocolates. Shine and Postero (both on Main Street) are our front runners for a nice dinner. Always call ahead for hours and availability but on a rainy day for kids: Hendersonville kids museum Hendersonville pinball arcade Hendersonville aquarium. **Florida people do not despair! We do have a PUBLIX in Hendersonville for your pub-sub fix!
BREVARD: Super cute little town. 22 minutes south down 280. Easy enough to park right downtown and walk to all the sights. Blue Ridge Bakery is a must! With kids In tow, you can’t pass up the three story OP Taylor Toy store and then hit up Rocky’s local soda shop. For unique shopping, make sure to check out Mantiques and DDBullwinkles outdoor store. While the kids are still on a sugar high, grab some sandwiches to-go from Food Matters Cafe and head into Pisgah Forest to check out all our beautiful waterfalls. Looking Glass falls is a short drive into the forest and has parking with a tiny walk down to the falls. For a full days adventure, rent a tube at the entrance of the forest and lazy River tube down the river or spend the day at Sliding Rock. If the weather is dreary, you can check out the Cradle of Forestry for kids entertainment in Pisgah. On a pretty day, the 25 minute drive up 276 from Brevard to the Blue Ridge is worth the spectacular view. If it’s supper time on the parkway, The Pisgah Inn has a stellar and fancy menu. *Morning Social is our spot for /breakfast/brunch
DUPONT/FLAT ROCK: DuPont Forest is a must. It’s a 30 minute drive to Park at the High Falls access parking lot (with visitor center and bathrooms) and take the three-mile hike to three stunning waterfalls.
