"This might be one of the worst hotels in Tulum. The rooms are old and have a musty smell to them with torn curtains on the windows and rusted sliding glass doors with keys that are difficult to open/close. There is no staff onsite before 10 am or after 6 pm, and accessing the property is difficult as you have to use a QR code to go through a turnstile and then through a door that leads you into a "alley" to get inside. There is no real lobby. The two restaurants onsite are grossly overpriced with a cup of coffee costing over $7 and cocktails between $20-24. The rooftop pool is small, unkempt and wasn't operational when I was there. You need to make a reservation to use the gym, and it doesn't have fans or AC. The service at the hotel is poor. There policy states that they change the bed linen every 3rd day and had to ask that they change mine after my 4th night, which they failed to do! I do not feel the property, service or amenities warrant the prices they are charging."

"It’s a trap. Nice resort, but some of the staff were very rude. I’d much rather have to pay for my food and drink in exchange for a pleasant server. The steak house was the worst steak I’ve had in Mexico, tasted like soot/gas, couldn’t even eat it. The Grotto is the only place with ok food and great service. Great for people who don’t want a Mexican experience. Zero authenticity. They try to sell you everything under the sun- friends fell for their ‘free breakfast’ at their sister resort- it was a 4 hour nightmare, pushing there Hyatt membership on them? They asked to leave 6 times, after saying no to 6 different sales staff, they begged to go back to the resort amd were finally brought back. "

"Beautiful decor in the lobby area- however: Our room was smaller than a dorm room with a shotty Murphy bed as hard as a rock. The pool was ice cold with a view of unfinished abandon building. Breakfast and service was good. Hotel charges a “destination fee” which adds significantly to your room stay cost and it’s just pure profit and false advertising that it’s not disclosed when you book but just added on when you check in. Not a value and would never stay again. Location is ok."

"Hola pues ya el hotel se ven las habitaciones deterioradas , la ropa de cama y toallas muy viejas , los amenities muy pobres , deberían de hacer cortesía en la noche y el hotel prender las velas , preparar la cama , cambiar toallas o poner más Además terrible que no se pueda dejar abierto un voucher y solo firmar los consumos dentro del hotel y que se tenga que firmar en cada centro de consumo , el concepto del gym ya muy deteriorado y obsoleto Los camastros y cojines en la playa viejos y sucios , arriba de la techumbre en el camastro toallas viejas , el no tener room Service o alternativas donde comer de 4 a 5 "

"With so many other amazing options in Tulum its hard to recommend this hotel based on our experience. Pros: - A very nice room with good amenities - Nice bell hop and beach wait staff Cons: - Really poor service from the front desk - We arrived early and were told that hotel check-in was at 3pm, at 3:30pm our room still was not ready with the excuse of "the hotel is completely booked" - They were going to show us a potential room upgrade and forgot when other guests showed up to check-in - The second day our room keys stopped working, when we got the keys working we found out that our room hadn't been cleaned by 4:30pm Given all the above you can find much better options for your money in Tulum"

"We stayed in August 2024 for my birthday. This was our 5th or 6th trip and unfortunately we will probably not return. Resort has stopped focusing on couples and has starting promoting large groups to book rooms. The resort isn't set up for this. Dining is delayed, staff is stressed (not enough of them to serve large groups plus other guests), more buffets than before, loud groups partying until late into the night/morning takes away from the chill, relaxing, quiet vibe the resort used to have. Staff and taxi drivers indicate the new manager (might not still be there 1.5 years later, maybe so) was running the resort into the ground for personal profit. We came here for our honeymoon in 2016 and loved it and went back several times. The last trip was so bad and noisy we were ready to leave early since the other people in our building thought nothing of blaring their music and talking on the phone until 3 and 4am in the common areas between rooms. The way the buildings are set up in this resort you walk into a common area and all the rooms in the building come off the common area. The problem is the rooms are very insulated between the rooms but not around the doors. Also because of the large open ceilings, stuff in the common areas echo. As the group was very large (probably 30 plus adults), our concerns were pretty much dismissed since they had rented out about 1/3 of the resort. The wait staff and kitchen staff and bar staff did the best they could. "
