Place is clean but really basic and over priced. For 500$ a night you would expect absolute luxury but was really disappointed. The staff are really nice and friendly which was the only positive from the huge price paid.

Unfortunately, our two-week stay was quite disappointing, mainly due to the food and poor organisation. The biggest problem was that there simply wasn’t enough food for all the guests. The menu was very limited at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. At first, we thought we were arriving too late, but even when we started coming earlier, there was still not enough food and very little choice. We have stayed at many hotels in Zanzibar, and we have never experienced anything like this before. I find this unacceptable and disrespectful to the guests. There were also other management issues. The hotel forgot about a birthday celebration, and when we reminded them, a cake was prepared in just five minutes. This was extremely disappointing and, in our opinion, completely unacceptable for such a special occasion. At the end of our stay, an additional charge was added to our bill that should not have been there. We had to question and clarify the charge, which was another unpleasant experience. The staff themselves were friendly and helpful, and we have no complaints about them. The main problems seem to be with the management and overall organisation of the hotel. The second beach also needs renovation. There are many stones at the entrance to the sea, making it very difficult and uncomfortable to walk barefoot. The food was literally the same everyday. Some meal sessions their staff were taking food and jostling with the guests. No a great experience They forgot to read what Expedia transmitted in terms of payment and failed to apply payment at point of entry only to ring and upset my son by asking him to come and pay. My SPA session was put in someone else name and took two days and further intervention to have it rectified. I believe they will be very good if they pay attention to details more and put restraint on staff coming to take food same time as guests especially when options are limited
