Imagine sitting on your front porch in a rocking chair, listening to the waves crashing on the beach. This lovingly restored and beautifully appointed, 1970’s beach box will transport you back to the good ol’ days while providing you all the amenities you desire in your home away from home in the Outer Banks.

This three-bedroom, two-bath cottage is located just down the street from beach access and sits only 4 houses away from the ocean. Enjoy a view of the waves from the front porch!

Equipped with cable, WIFI, flat screen TVs (4), an expansive front porch, outdoor living spaces, a well-stocked kitchen, and a washer and dryer, Tommy Tautog’s has everything you need to enjoy easy beach living except your bathing suits and beach towels! Other linens (bedding, bath towels and washcloths) are provided by an independent vendor – the beds will be made when you arrive!

While the proximity to the beach is excellent, you’ll also find that this little gem on Walker Street offers easy access to the Avalon Pier and other great local attractions as well.

Our awesome caretakers, Mike and Lisa, are just as committed to your experience as we are!

We had a wonderful trip. The location couldn't be better. Not only are you so close to the beach but Kill Devil Hills is pretty much in the middle of the Outer Banks. Lots of restuarants and easy trips North to Duck or South to Cape Hatteras. Jason, our Property Manager, always got right back to me and took his time to take career of us. THANK YOU!

Amazing OBX location

We really enjoyed this house, the accommodations were perfect for a family of 5. The walk to the beach was very easy--we were close to the Wright Brothers' memorial and Jockey's Ridge. We were only 30 minutes from Roanoke Island and Duck. This is a really great base for exploring the Outer Banks and we would stay here again.

First time in OBX

This was the perfect house and location for our first time in The Outerbanks! We traveled from Syracuse, NY area and loved the easy walkable access to the beach, the property amenities and size. We also loved the proximity to lots of delicious restaurants, ice cream shops and so many other things to explore. We will be staying here for sure when we come back!!

Perfect Location!

This cute little cottage was perfect for our family of 4 adults and 1 tween. It was very clean when we arrived and had all the necessities. Well maintained with little thoughtful details like power strips everywhere for easy access and charging options. The location is PERFECT with just a short walk down the street for beach access. This is the 2nd time staying here and we enjoyed it again. Clean house with everything you may need in the kitchen and beach items. The location was fantastic to walk to the beach and the pier. Wonderful house just steps from the beach

We enjoyed our vacation in this nice, well equipped house in an awesome neighborhood just steps from the beach! The location was close enough to everything but still felt secluded and provided for the relaxation we were looking for. There was no public parking at the beach entrance nearest the home so there was plenty of open space on the beach. We had a terrific time and would certainly look at this home again for future trips!

Great long weekend away!

Really great spot! Quiet street really close to beach access. Our family enjoyed the amenities - table tennis, cornhole - all the extra kid stuff that was already there. Great area to walk around and exercise. The porch was our favorite for catching a breeze. Cottage was perfect for our small family and very comfortable. Really glad there was a washer and dryer! Only suggestion is to add the safety outlet plugs for kids. We will be back! Loved it!

Great Location and lots beach supplies.

This house was perfect for our family of 6. It's an easy walk to the beach. That walk is made even easier by the provided beach cart. Several chairs, boogie boards, sand toys and umbrellas are provided too. Additionally there was corn hole and ladderball. The internet was fast, the beds comfortable and it's proximity to the local activities are a plus. It's an easy walk to Awful Arthur's and the pier. If I had to pick something as a negative, the area under the couch needs cleaned. Theres plenty of outdoor seating as well. From the porch to the two sitting areas under the house, no matter the weather, you can be outside. Check in was super easy as was check out. I highly recommend.
