"The location is very good. The staff is helpful and friendly. The hotel is tired and basic with rather spartan rooms. Breakfast is plentiful but average."

"Love that they provide pajamas (long comfy button down long sleeved shirt dresses) - had I known I wouldn't have packed pjs. The locations is priceless if you're up for being in the heart of the busy night life of Shinjuku. It's conveniently located next to a train station and all the awesome restaurants and stores. It's close to known tourist spots and trending foodie spots. I also loved the view of the city that we had - Includes Godzilla! They didn't have an iron/steamer which was a huge disappointment since I needed that. The staff was helpful but staff by the restaurant aren't always greeting you but you would think they would since they're right by the main entrance. The room I booked with the two beds was really tight for tourists like myself that had a couple large luggages. My son is also over 6ft so he hit his head a lot in the shower/bathroom. I'm not sure if this is just typical of what to expect in Japan hotels."

THE KNOT TOKYO Shinjuku

"The hotel is directly opposite the beautiful Shinjuku Chuo Park and while we were there, so were the Tokyo Lights, which made the park very magical at night. The hotel is 10 minutes walk from Tochomae Station and around 15 minutes walk from Shinjuku Station, a further 5 minutes into Shinjuku itself, so is very well located. There is a bakery and breakfast buffet at the hotel, also lunches dinners are served both downstairs and on the 2nd floor grill. We upgraded to a superior room, but could have done with something bigger for the 2 of us, but the hotel was fully booked. My son had a superior room to himself and it was ample size for him. The towels are changed daily, however, the tea and coffee weren’t replenished, but this wasn’t a problem, as there is a family mark, a minutes walk from the hotel and 2 cafes in the park, one which does the famous fluffy pancakes. The hotel was buzzing all day long, even the locals came to eat here. The food was very good."

HOTEL GROOVE SHINJUKU, A PARKROYAL Hotel

"The hotel is very western style and has only western style food offered at the hotel. The hotel is in a very lively area, but is dangerous. When walking back from dinner I got approached by 3 men who started harassing me in English and trying to grab me. The men were other foreigners who I think were trying to rob or harm me. Be careful. If your going to Japan to experience Japan and Japanese culture, I do not recommend this hotel. The people who work here are not not Japanese, the hotel is not Japanese style, the people staying here are not Japanese, and they don't offer Japanese food or drinks, (the have starbucks in the lobby). It's like you're not even in Japan. I was very disappointed in this hotel. The style of the hotel reminded me of Las Vegas hotels. Also, checking in and out took forever, just like large Las Vegas American hotels. Room was clean, and view was good though."
