"The buildings are definitely older but everything was clean and the staff were VERY helpful. I couldn't find my charger the first day there and my phone was at 1%, I went to the front desk to ask if they sold any and she said no sorry. Wait do you have an I phone? Here you can borrow mine. The menu at the on site restaurant was limited, but very good. The Tiki bar was a great place to sit and enjoy the view."

"Online checking was easy. Staff super friendly upon arrival and through out the stay. Room very comfortable. Fresh clean towels daily. Building does show some wear but overall very satisfied. Pool area clean and very enjoyable. Do wish Pool stayed open later. But I understand liabilities and staff going home in the evenings. Can't wait for next yours trip. "The Carriage House Inn was a perfect place to stay while in Southport. It was in an excellent location, and the owners thought of everything you could possibly need. I highly recommend staying there!"

"Room was spacious, clean. Bed comfortable. Balcony. Good views to water! Has an elevator! A huge bonus! Parking ample. Pool was clean and not over crowded. It has a small beach with a small boardwalk. Would come back. Located in Southport. Love the town. 4 min from great eateries and shops. Recommend Cafe Koa. Get there early! Try the fried green tomato omelet! Great coffee too. Few min drive to Oak Island."

"There was one dryer and one washer for 3 floors of guest...had to wait 3 hours just to dry clothes....they only had dark roast coffee in room and for breakfast...i don't drink dark roast....had pic of indoor pool it was outdoor Room was nice though...good thing Walmart was just 3 blocks away..."

"the place was really clean, but it is very small and parking is tight, main issue is there's no elevator and if you don't get ground floor the steps are really steep, we were emailed a 2nd floor room number however when we arrived it ended up being 3rd floor, door locks are a bit tricky as well... but over all its well kept older building and everyone was friendly and its very close to anything you would really need"
