"My wife and I were both pleasantly surprised by the breakfast buffet. I was expecting a pretty basic budget hotel breakfast, but this had a lot more freshly cooked breakfast options - closer to a resort style buffet. They also had a snack and drink option in the evening which was more than expected. They had nachos, pizza, wings and alcoholic beverages all included with our stay. We felt pretty pampered and would stay here again. "

"From the time I checked in until the time we left, all of the staff at Pierpont Inn in Ventura, CA were friendly and went the extra mile to answer any guest questions. The front desk staff, both day and night, were very nice and went out of their way to make sure our stay was excellent. We only stayed one night, but the service was outstanding and the ocean view was beautiful. The queen suite was awesome — it had a huge shower and a separate bedroom and living room with a door in between for added privacy. The suite also had a great ocean view, which made the stay even better. It also came with free breakfast, which was a nice bonus. Overall, we had an excellent stay and would definitely stay again."

"If you book through Expedia, the front desk staff will charge you an additional $56 dollar fee for “costs not covered by Expedia.” Since you’re traveling, you’re stuck paying the fee, unless you wanna risk not being able to find another place. Then we got a room that didn’t have the spa even though we booked it. We also got a dirty room. 3 out of the 5 windows have either no screen or a broken screen that lets flies into your room. Oh and there’s no shampoo or body soap, so you should bring your own. Would not recommend."

"I decided on the Ojai Retreat and Inn instead of a traditional hotel setting. We were so glad we made this choice, as the property is beautiful and serene with the mountains as a backdrop. We absolutely loved the waterfall meditation garden. The whole property is so great! They offered a continental breakfast, free self-parking, and had a spacious, quiet room for reading. All in all, hands down a five-star experience. I will definitely be back!"

"Fellow Travelers - I would highly recommend staying at a different hotel. I booked 3 nights at this hotel, through Expedia, since it had the best price in the Ojai area. The greeting I received at the front desk was not very professional and lacked good customer service. After ringing the bell for service, I waited for 10 minutes for someone to show up. Then I was asked to sign a document, on a tablet, that I wasn't able to read before signing, which later I regretted since it indicated that there are no refunds if you leave early. As it turns out, the mattress was old and had a bad smell, like old urine and a large bug was in the bathroom sink. Since the hotel office closes at 10:00 pm, I could not get help with the situation and ended up leaving that night. After speaking to Management the next day, they denied refunding any of my money. Expedia was also no help in getting a refund. This whole situation reminds me of another hotel stay where they had BED BUGS, but did not want to take responsibility for their old mattresses. My advice to you... pay the extra bucks and stay somewhere else."
