2/10 Terrible

"This facility is spread over approximately 6 acres. Nothing is done in the same building. We are 80 years old. When we arrived at the hotel we were told that our room was five blocks away when I told them that that was impossible for my husband to walk, they offered us in a room for an additional $50 a night plus $65 fee to use the amenities bringing the charge to our room approximately $550 when we saw our room, we realized that it was on the second floor with stairs and no elevator. The room was so small that in order to open the closet you needed to sit on the bed. There was no chair in the room no coffee and tea service even though it was listed and no telephone even though local calls were supposed to be provided free of charge. Breakfast was included in our room and we found out the first morning that breakfast again was in another building outside around the corner across the street the beach consisted of beach chairs, sand, and seaweed from end to end so there was no option to go in the water. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone Holiday Inn best Western, etc. at $200 per night or 10 times better."

"The AC wasn’t on in our room when we checked in - and it was HOT - so it took quite a while for it to be comfortable for our dogs (and us humans). The on-demand water heater didn’t work for us, and I followed the instructions. The weird car key policy… it would be ok for the front desk to hold our jeep keys if the desk was manned 24/7, but the hours aren’t 24 hours. Also we were thinking about meeting friends in the middle keys and leaving very early but without our keys, that didn’t happen. The property is pretty and quiet, room size was great, loved the pool and location - but some things just were “off”."

"The rooms are nice. We like the continental breakfast before we head to the close by beach. You can get passes for a beach chair and towels. We like the convenience of the location. The only thing we didn't like is that the pool closest to our room was locked before the actual time, but we were able to go to the other pool. There was also an very early morning truck that emptied a dumpster. The staff was nice and we were able to leave our luggage after check out, because we had a late ferry trip."

"You will not find a cleaner, well maintained hotel in Key West than this one. The continental breakfast is unmatched and has everything known to man for a fantastic breakfast. The pool is small but adequate and the hot tub could be a touch more inviting but we are so glad we picked this hotel. Thank-you Orchid Key Inn"

"What a cracking little hotel. From the moment we arrived and the helpfulness of the staff, I knew this would be a good one. Room wasn’t huge but this is a former motel converted to a hotel, and it had everything we needed. Walking into the room, it was better appointed than many 5* hotels I’ve been in. Goodness knows how it’s only a 3*. Complimentary breakfast was excellent with lots to choose from. Happy hour with a free drink every night was great and most of the guests went to that which made it nice and lively. The staff though. Absolutely fantastic. Couldn’t have been any more helpful and so knowledgeable about the local area. Daniel was an absolute star. Right round the corner from Duval St, about halfway between the Marina and Southernmost Point, it’s in a great location. I’d come back in a heartbeat and would happily recommend this to friends visiting Key West."
