Really nice hotel! Felt a little like home away from home. Staff is very friendly and even brought us chocolates made on Madeira. Roof top pool and view is amazing!

This was my second time staying at Cliff bay and it was even more exceptional than the first. The have very low employee turnover so you are remembered which was very nice:-) The food is world class and the accommodations were amazing, I am already planning my next visit!!!

Pestana properties are our 'go to' properties when travelling in Europe. The staff are always super friendly & helpful. Churchill Bay is a lovely authentic fishing village. The hotel has a lovely roof top restaurant. The food was fresh & very well prepared. We stayed 4 nights & dined at the hotel every night. There are many other options but we enjoyed the convenience & birds eye view of the bay's activies at the sunset.

My husband and I stayed four nights and had a very positive experience. The staff was unfailingly friendly and helpful and allowed us to check in early. The hotel has a low density in terms of number of rooms and a relaxing atmosphere was prevalent. The breakfast buffet (included in price) was excellent and provided a good variety of good quality choices. We had an absolutely wonderful stay at editory Ocean Way funchal . The rooms were very comfortable, we got a beautiful balcony with Ocean View that was spectacular. The hotel is definitely a five star . Love the bathrobes and the slippers to be able to go to the spa . Luxurious pool towels were provided. And special call out for Andrea, Mikaela and Sophia at the front desk, and Catarina in the restaurant. We prearranged a number of excursions and they helped us with all the arrangements. Great...

It was lovely fine days full of comfort from the always helpful stuff, gorgeous garden to walk and relax in, and a marvelous cliff overlooking the marina and sea of Funchal. The balcony/terrace was south oriented - full of flowers in pots, with a sunshade, table and chairs - lovely place to take a glass in the evening. The only small minus was a bit of possible noise from neighbour's room, but that wasn't a problem, rather just a notice.

The hotel is situated in the country, near tall trees and grape vines, convenient to hiking in that part of Madeira. The views were lovely. The staff were helpful and friendly. For the 3 of us, the room was a bit crowded, but okay.

People need to know that they have to bring swimming shoes to go swimming on the beach. It is rocky and sharp.
