Serenity in the Mountains

I have been renting cabins in the NC mountains for the past 10 years. I was very pleased with "Serenity in the Hills". The hot tub was a welcome treat after a long day of hiking. The bed was very comfortable and the master bath shower was great! Since I stayed for 5 weeks it was truly my "home away from home"!

Great mountain getaway

Everything you need/want to just relax and enjoy. Very well maintained with recent upgrades. Outdoor patio with hot tub great for mornings or nights. And- the restaurants in the valley will deliver so no reason to leave if you don’t want to!

A lovely cabin

This cabin was clean, nicely decorated and well equipped. We loved the back porch! It was serene and beautiful! We wished we were staying longer and will definitely come back. Only thing I didn’t like was that we had to drop off the garbage to a collection site which was pretty far. Wished it was included in the cleaning fee.

How Magical

The cabin was PERFECT for my husband and I. The patio was definitely our favorite part. The crickets are always softly chirping, and the breeze through the leaves in the trees just makes you want to hush and listen. Staying in the cabin is almost like staying in a tree house. The amenities were lovely--full stove, oven, microwave, toaster, etc. The cabin was immaculate when we arrived and SO cute! Will most certainly stay here agin and recommend to friends.

Such a great time!

My husband and I had a great stay for my birthday. The cabin was just as described. If I had to list a con, it would be that there were some light switches that didn’t seem connected to anything and we couldn’t get the fan in the main bedroom to work. But overall, or stay was super enjoyable. The hosts were also very compassionate when I had to make a change due to the loss of my pet. The listing is true to form. You need to be prepared to climb the hill in your vehicle. Definitely would stay here again.

Good with some flaws

Overall, the property was good and we all enjoyed the stay, but it did have its flaws. The view was good off the back deck (not so sure it would be in spring/summer months) the home was decently easy to get to if you look past the narrow road, and the property was relatively clean. Here come the flows: By "Relatively clean" I mean visually it looked clean, however, there were some areas with dust buildup, the fridge door was sticky, and a few stains on the walls. I would argue that we left it cleaner than we arrived. While the cabin appears to have been somewhat renovated recently, the workmanship in a few areas is questionable. Two different countertops in the kitchen, loose screws in the master bathroom, ceiling fan that shakes in the 2nd bedroom, and no working heat in either of the bedrooms to name a few. On the last day, as we were packing to leave, what appeared to be the owner of the property or the cleaning person showed up and sat at the end of the driveway waiting for us to leave (Check out is 10am, it was 9:30am). We felt a little rushed to get out even though we had time. We would love to stay at this property again sometime assuming the things mentioned above get resolved. Thanks!

Everything was great we had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable hot tub and the view was outstanding. Really didn’t use any of the kitchen but it looked like it was well equipped. Thank you for everything and will recommend it to others and also for understanding about the late checkout.

Hidden Secret

Weeeeee definitely enjoyed going from 100 plus temperatures to the Smoky Mountain 71 temperatures. We relaxed, we ate, we played, we slept good and we sightseed.... And then we ate some more! The cabin was just as described and very cozy. Especially the hot tub!!! We made it up the hill in our 2012 four-door Genesis (but I definitely would not advise this in the winter... Definitely use a 4-wheel drive). Mother Nature was beautiful and good to us throughout our stay. And before we knew it was time to go home......:(

We labeled it “The Neglected Cabin”

No problems with check in, communications or location. Some examples of neglect; kitchen faucet was not secured to sink, 5 glasses in cabinets were cracked, many light bulbs throughout were extinguished; deck table had a serious wobble; no propane for grill; 10 towels in the dryer (still damp); frying pans in serious need of replacement. Other neglect includes the cabin itself. Many places of rot, or broken and missing doors (upstairs bathroom/bedroom closet). Also, the floor vent in downstairs bath, is not secure. Easy for a pet to break a leg! I would highly recommend the owner or corporate manager stay there and I believe they would come to the same conclusion.

Serenity at its best!

Peaceful Getaway

We thoroughly our stay at this cabin outside of Waynesville. It was very clean, well stocked and comfortable. It was so lovely to be able to relax in the hot tub on a chilly night amongst the trees. We will keep this place in mind when back in the area!

Great trip to Maggie Valley

This was a great cabin for our stay in Maggie Valley. Nestled up on the mountain and still within a 5 minute drive to the heart of Maggie Valley. Also, a very close location for Cherokee, Waynesville and Lake Junaluska. Really enjoyed eating and relaxing on the deck along with the private hot tub. Would definitely recommend this property and will be returning in the future.

Long weekend to a familiar location

My wife and I spent a few nights in this beautiful home before we had 3 of our grandchildren (ages 7, 4, 2) stay for 1 night while their parents attended a wedding in the area. The place was very clean and was welcoming upon entering the door. It had everything we needed and was very comfortable. My wife did a lot of reading on the deck when we were not going around to places we had been in the past. The location was convenient and just a few minutes off the main road of Maggie Valley. Very enjoyable and relaxing.

Great Cabin Tucked Away in the Woods

When we arrived to the cabin the cleaners had failed to arrive. Reached out to the property manager who immediately got back to us and resolved the issue. Great location that provides a lot of privacy. Be aware, the drive up to the cabin gets to a 9 degree pitch. Most vehicles should have no issue, but read the warning from the property owners about winter months.
