"Our only complaint was that we didn't stay long enough to enjoy all that was available. The accommodation was great (we stayed in a lodge), the staff were helpful and friendly, the food was great (Sunday roast buffet highly recommended), room was clean and well maintained and the bar and gardens were wonderful. We will definitely stay there again if we're in the area"

The Lowfield Inn

"The staff were very accommodating. We had booked a night stay for a wedding and arrived at 11 to get changed in a friends room who was already there. Our room was obviously not going to be ready as check in was at 2pm however the staff allowed us to check in early and even gave us the key ready so we would not have to leave the wedding and said we could leave our luggage outside the room and they would put it in for us. Our room was however then ready before we left so we could do it ourselves. The themes on the rooms are animals and there was lovely touches in each room. Rooms were all clean and comfortable with everything you could need. We pre-ordered our breakfast upon arrival and it was ready for us the next day. There was a good selection from cereal to a full English which I think our group all enjoyed. I would highly recommend this accommodation."

White Horse Inn Clun

"What a wonderful local pub that is dog friendly. The owners / managers and the staff were friendly, helpful and nothing too much. Chatty locals. Locally sourced super home cooked food and locally brewed IPA. Clun is a nice village for a wander around after dinner. Last minute booking before rally driving would definitely visit again"

Stokesay inn and b and b

"We were attending a gig a Ludlow Castle, most accommodation was booked or expensive at Ludlow for the night of the gig so we chose to stop at Stokestay Hotel because there was a train station close that we could catch there and back. The Stokesay staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and tidy, breakfast was excellent and bar prices good so we would not hesitate to stop there again."

The Talbot Hotel

"The only negative was we were not informed that they do not provide food on Sunday or Monday evenings but there are places within a 5 min drive. The room was very clean and bed was very comfy. As it was exstreamly warm we were provided a life saver fan. All staff were very welcoming and attentive and worked very hard. We had no noise at night as it’s situated in a quite village. Breakfast was perfect every morning with plenty of choice. We would definitely recommend the Talbot hotel to our family and friends. Thanks to every one for a great stay."

Old Downton Lodge

"Needed a place close to Shropshire to visit rellys - my wife found this online and the photos and reviews were stellar. The longest, twistiest single lane country road with flocks of bantams took 15 minutes to reach the lodge from theain A road. Crazy! Fortunately, no one came the other direction so only the wildlife provided the hazards. The lodge is a converted barn/stables/something old and quirky. It has wifi and very polite staff. Nod to Winter and Tomasz who made our first night with great wine and cider, nibbles and such. This is a fine dining restaurant (no room service) and what is on the menu is just that- no exceptions. I overheard that the menu does not change much; seasonally I think so maybe not dine here for your entire stay as it is rich dining, too. Not a fan of rich fancy dining but it was well prepared and presented. No AIR CON but a fan is supplied to make you feel the hot air circulate around you. Breakfast was very good locally sourced fare. Really very good. The lodge is close to Ludlow where they have many concerts which must be fun and certainly would look at making this part of our next visit to this part of the world but be aware only small twisty roads so no motorways and plenty of slow moving heavy farm machinery to ensure a long leisurely drive."

The Nags Head Inn

"What I didn't like was the Noise from the traffic over the night, other wise was pleased with the large room, clean and comfortable. Parking area OK but very dusty. The staff is very helpful and pleasant."

Rowton Castle Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Just got home after a lovely stay at Rowton Castle. The staff were amazing could not do enough for you. Food was good and excellently presented. The grounds were amazingly kept. First visit but definitely not the last."
