"I paid a premium rate for a room that was in a state of disrepair. I booked the premium sea view double room. I filled in the check in andadvised te breakfast card had been filled in by the previous guest and the fridge had a terrible smell when it was opened. The hotel manager called me the following day and offered me a courtesy buffet breakfast. The buffet breakfast was terrible. The bacon was rubbery and dry, we closed the lid of the scrambled eggs straight away as they presented so badly. The juice was watered down and both the coffee machine and the coffee in a flask was undrinkable. We stuck with fruit toast and tea. The server looked like she had been crying. The next day I paid for a coffee in the bar area. A different server took my order, I paid and then she disappeared for 20 minutes. I was left sitting alone in the bar waiting for my coffee. She later returned and noticed me sitting there and made my coffee and told me she forgot. Throughout my three night stay, further maintenance was reported. The air con was leaking, I received a return email to say that maintenance would attend. I then discovered that the shower head would not stay up along with several other maintenance items reported in the same email. The shower head was replaced by maintenance without us approving access or being notified that they were attending. I notified the hotel manager but received no reply. I am very disappointed that this room was available to book as it was in such a state"

"Good location for day trips, but noisy at night as opposite Casino Property is looking a little old and dated could use some sprucing up Breakfast buffet bit boring, same thing everyday, most was cold except toast and fresh cooked eggs, not worth $40 per day Needed a sewing kit, they were unable to help"

"The Quest Hotel is perfectly situated on the waterfront in Cairns. We booked the trip to The Barrier Reef and were pleasantly surprised it was just a short walk to the marina to connect with our tour boat. There is a restaurant on the roof that , weather permitting, is a lovely restaurant with evening sunset views during your meal. There is only one lift which can be a pain if t are people coming in to use the rooftop restaurant and you’re waiting for the lift to eventually arrive on the 7th floor or ground floor as a hotel guest."

"I tried another booking company first and was messed about beyond belief, almost gave up on my birthday trip then come across Lastminute.com. I was surprised to see the hotels were above decent and with great reviews. Unlike the other companies I was looking at were their bundle deals seemed to only include hotels that had seen better days and were trying to get people back to retain their 5 star status. The Crystalbrook Riley was so far above what I was imagining for my birthday trip, I got the inclusive breakfast everyday, so worth it, it only cost me an extra $15 per day and the other hotel guests were paying $45 per person at the door. The pool was beautiful, the staff were above and beyond helpful and looked generally happy to be there. The beauty spa was well priced compared to Adelaide spa prices and the ladies were lovely. My massage therapist was so sweet and really informative, I usually prefer not to talk during sessions but this chick had a great vibe and I learned a lot about my skin type. There was a Supermarket within walking distance for snacks and essential items as well as a plethora or different restaurants surrounding so great location for people who are not hiring a car on their trip. Honestly 10/10 experience could not fault them if I tried!"
