"This was our second stay at this beautiful home, and somehow it was even better than the first. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the most breathtaking mountain views, whether you’re enjoying your morning coffee, relaxing on the couch, or watching the sunset light up the sky, it never gets old.The home itself is the perfect mix of cozy and spacious. It was incredibly clean, well-stocked, and had everything we needed to feel right at home. We especially loved the large windows and deck area, such a peaceful place to unwind and take in the scenery.Our family had the best time here, from relaxing inside to exploring nearby and just enjoying being together. Even our pup felt right at home! It’s clear the owners put a lot of care into making this a comfortable and welcoming space.One thing to note, our older daughter was still able to get Uber Eats deliveries, which was a nice surprise in such a mountain location. With some road closures during our stay, deliveries and travel took a little longer, but everything still worked out just fine.We’re already talking about coming back again, this has officially become one of our favorite getaway spots. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful, scenic, and truly relaxing stay!"

"Quaint chalet. Older property with nice updates. Super clean and host was easy to communicate with. Beds were very comfortable. New mattresses, bedding, and pillows. Firm mattresses. We only stayed one night on our way through town so we didn’t get to take advantage of any of the amenities. Quiet neighborhood. The view is gorgeous. Mt Mitchell is nearby. However, the part of the road that takes you there in 15 minutes was closed so we had to go 2 hours around the mountain to get to the other entrance. Definitely check ahead of time if that is one of your main destinations. Would definitely stay here again. "

"5 stars is not enough to rate our stay at the Fox Den and our gracious host Ron. It’s pretty safe to say we felt at home immediately upon parking our car and heading inside. The Fox Den exceeded our expectations and checked every box and then some that my sweetheart and I were looking for to celebrate our anniversary. It was cozy, extremely private, and had an overall “I’m home” feel to it. The property itself also provided a fire pit that we used several times and incredible scenery. As a host Ron was eager to provide anything and everything we needed and even made us feel safe and not rushed to leave in the middle of an unforeseen snow storm as our stay was ending. Another stay at the Fox Den in the near future is an absolute certainty for us. Thanks Ron!"

"We had a great stay this weekend! The house was exactly as described, even better in person. It was clean, comfortable, and had amazing views. The location was perfect.What really stood out was how thoughtful and responsive the owner was. They checked in to make sure we were happy with everything and even texted us local food recommendations.Overall, it was a smooth and relaxing stay, and we’d definitely come back again!"

"This house was perfect for our visit. I grew up in the area and this trip was to bury my dad. I spent so many hours on and in the South Toe river fishing with my dad. This trip, I spent the most time at the fire pit and on the deck enjoying the sounds and view of the river. The house was perfect for the rest of the family too. I fixed several meals in the kitchen and had everything needed. I loved several design features in the house, and I'm now considering a few of them for an upcoming remodel of my home. Communication with homeowner's representative was on point. Would definitely recommend. For future trips, we will check this home for availability first."
