Top Royal Academy of Arts Hotel Reviews

The Londoner

The Londoner

8/10 Good
"The Londoner compares itself to 5 star London hotels such as The Langham but it's service, it's rooms and it's breakfast don't compare at all. The rooms are fine, the Japanese toilets throughout the hotel are brilliant. The toilet area of the room would benefit from underfloor heating. The rooms could do with more lighting as it's virtually impossible to put on makeup as the lighting is so poor. The breakfast is average. There's no berries at all which isn't 5 star standard. When you are seated at breakfast you are asked what drinks you would like. The drinks then take 10 to 15 minutes to arrive. The hot menu is presented to you and the hot food takes less than 5 minutes to arrive. Top tip, finish your fruit or continental before ordering your hot food or you will be playing pass the plate around the tiny table. On day 3 we were seated in a different area with different waiting staff. We asked, as every morning, for decaf Americano with hot milk, and we're brought ordinary Americano, not decaf. The Italian waitress then proceeded to argue with me and tell me I had ordered incorrectly. She argued so much I had to put my fingers in my ears to shut her up. Hardly 5 star service. After checkout you can use the spa until 6pm. On arrival at the spa at 12 noon we were told we couldn't have a robe because they are reserved for paying spa guests and I didn't need a gown anyway. Terrible customer service."

"Comfortable and private pods. The light and temperature controls were good (temperature only goes as low as 19oC but this felt comfortable). Facilities were modern and clean. Only issue was poor drainage in the showers, after only a couple of minutes of showering the area was flooding, and it then took more than 10 mins to drain, it was fine for a quick shower but would have been really difficult if I needed to wash my hair. I saw multiple other shower cubicles that were flooded so clearly this is a bigger problem."
