This was a very beautiful property with a gorgeous scenery. Six people were in our party and it had plenty of room to accommodate us. Less than 5 miles from a convent store and within a 30 minute drive to the next big city. However, to get to the property from the main road was rougher than expected. You do need an all-wheel drive vehicle for the last 2 miles to get up a steep hill coming and going. Overall, it was a great stay and we made lots of fun memories. Would book again in the future!
My husband and I stayed for a weekend, our friends couldn't make it, this house is well equipped to hold a large family or two small families. We were well situated to hike and rent a boat on the lake at Hurricane Marina.
Plus: Large and spacious, great outdoor deck, comfortable bed, quiet, within 15 minutes of town for supplies, comfortable living room and seating for movies, etc., large kitchen.
Minus: There really needs to be more furniture on the deck, there is only one high top table with two chairs. An inventory needs to be done on kitchen accessories and the cleaning company should use adequate leave behinds. There was no sink stopper, I had to use a bowl for soapy water to wash dishes. There was no hair dryer, even though the listing states there is one, luckily I wasn't going anywhere that mattered! There are not even the smallest of starter shampoos, etc. The soap that was left was so small, you be able to wash your hands three times.
Overall, this was a good rental.
We stayed here to celebrate a birthday and it was a wonderful experience. The house was very clean and spacious. Communication with the rental company was 10/10
Our stay here was awesome! We arrived and found the place to be exactly as pictured, although the living space seemed bigger than what I expected. Very open and clean. It had everything we needed. The views from the deck were stunning, which created a very peaceful environment. We were close to town and local marinas. We would love to stay there again.

Motorcycle trip
Booked house and said were coming down to tour the area on bikes. Friends said house was good. Problem is, the highway in was not good for motorcycles. Road is loose gravel and lots of hills and hard turns. Friends said they stayed at house and did not leave- afraid to make multiple trips in and out.
The property was accurate to the description. Nice house with great host. Good communication. Only real issue was that the house had a very strong chemical smell that lasted the entirety of the trip. We actual had to go buy air freshener to combat the smell they helped but only masked the smell. The access roads are also gravel and very narrow. Would not suggest towing a trailer into the property.
Very pleasant stay. House was as described. Particularly enjoyed sitting on the top deck and watching the hawks come flying over the top of the house and out over the lake. House is built on a hillside so not a lot of flat ground for the dog to run around on but he enjoyed patrolling the spacious deck.
The road to get there is a one lane rd that is rough. The house itself was amazing just like the pictures. We had a great time. They should put blinds in the master bedroom though because it’s glass doors and it was bright with the sun. Hard to sleep in.
The home is beautiful and clean. The views from all the windows and balconies is a wonderful plus; we captured some stunning pictures of the sunrise right out of bed. My only reservation would be that there are no curtains, blinds and/or black out options for privacy or to block the sun coming in at the break of dawn, so sleeping in wasn't really an option. All in all a great house for a weekend get away with my friends and family. The location is very private, but close enough to many attractions in the area, as well as being a 30/45 minute drive to the beautiful falls we came to see.
Check-in was seamless—There is a beautiful, rare summer lake view. The management company was very responsive when we identified the need to remove the poison ivy. However, the main bedroom had no blinds or curtains. Being awakened at 5:30 am by the sun while on vacation is a problem. One of the other bedrooms had springs coming through the mattress. The kitchen was well stocked with plates but had no mixing bowls, serving dishes, and a limited range of cooking supplies. Although a boat ramp is close, you need a four-wheel drive to navigate the roads if pulling a boat. I would recommend renting a slip at the marina. It is a lot safer than attempting the steep inclines and declines to the home. This property has a stunning view and a nice layout, the WIFI worked well, but the issues listed had a negative impact on our experience.

Disliked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
Not at all what the listing describes - unclean, bugs and spiders everywhere
With the pricing we paid and the listing saying “stunning views” and “ultimate vacation home” and “beautiful home” we were expecting exactly that and it was 100% not. The ONLY view of the lake is one tiny glimpse of a single little curve in the lake that you can only see through the tiny kitchen window or if you stand in just the right place in the sun room.
Most of all, when we arrived, this is what we found:
- unclean dishes, filthy grill, unclean and DUST COVERED house in general
- uncomfortable mattress that sinks in the middle in bedrooms that hurt our backs and necks
- HUGE spiders and bugs all over the inside of house (dead and alive)
-no access to any of the other floors or garage to store water toys, especially since the ad calls attention to multiple decks
- poorly stocked kitchen with multiple pots found filthy and unwashed and all cabinets disorganized and hard to find things.
I wish I could post the pictures of the absolutely disgusting bug/spider assortment we found when we were going to make the couch bed out for children to sleep. We were not able to use this disgusting room at all because I was afraid my kids would get bit by spiders.
