"Fantastic throw-back hotel settled in the heart of Ventura. It has a fun, family-friendly vibe that reminded me of a 1960s beach movie. Walking distance to the pier, excellent restaurants, shopping, and the beach! The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful when I needed them. My room had a great view of the pool and the beach in the background, and was clean and freshly painted."

"This is a very friendly property. It’s very VERY close to the state beach and downtown. Location is great. Breakfast just as described. Very friendly staff. The beds were clean. The floor was not so much."

"Hotel San Buena is a beautifully restored location with modern amenities. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the temperature controlled room was perfect. The staff were incredibly thoughtful and kind and helpful. And little touches like turn down service (a little treat in the evening) and filtered water on the rooms were very nice. My only complaint was that the Historic room is directly below a walkway and directly next to a gate that leads to the outdoors. We could hear people walking and the heavy metal gate slam shut as early as 7am and as late as 10pm. Other than this our stay was ideal."
