"The pictures we received at the time we rented this property were grossly misrepresented.We were told it was a gated property. When we pulled up, the gate waa wide open..it did not work at all.The main door to enter the house locked; however, there were two other doors that were wide open when we entered as the locks were broken.It is advertised as having a hot tub and heated pool. When we arrived, we were informed it was not a hot tub but a spillover into the pool. The thermostat on the pool said 104, but the water temperature waa 70 degrees.The outside of the property has been poorly taken care of. Broken chairs near the pool, mildew buildup on the fence, trash everywhere, and black mold on the "extra" apartment on the property. The house is advertised to sleep 10 and said the couch opened up into a bed. The couch does not open up. There werent even 10 chairs to sit on or 10 forks to eat from.We would not stay here again."

The well-equipped kitchen with cookware, utensils, spices and oils made cooking in easy with everything needed at hand. The spacious main living area adjacent to the kitchen was great for family gatherings. And the jumbo TV was a bonus we all enjoyed. The house was clean, beds comfy, and updated bathrooms appreciated. The downstairs living area was great as we all had space to unwind without feeling cramped. The stunning view and sunsets were enjoyed in the private, resort-like setting. The kayaks and paddle boards were used and enjoyed. The pool was wonderful for cooling off and relaxing. Sharing the place with family was special as we all have great memories! We'll be back! "

"The Online Property Manager almost pushed us to ask for a refund by telling us about loud dock construction between the hours of 10am -2pm every day immediately after he secured our final payment for the trip. Thankfully Tom who is the onsite manager was amazing and had the construction stopped for the duration of our stay. He gave us endless local knowledge, help, and let us borrow a cooler and some of his personal equipment. Everything was clean and wonderful on the property and it was stocked with fun amenities.The trip would be perfect if not for the sargassum which made the first 4-5 feet of the water rather foul but after that it was amazing to kayak or paddleboard on. If we revisit we will definitely go earlier when there is less of the sargassum, as well as hopefully a completed new dock that should be great for swimming and avoiding the sargassum altogether. Overral the food in the keys, the house, the views, and the wonderful host Tom made this trip a wonderful get away. "

"We had a fantastic stay in August! The location was perfect—right on the water, with kayaks available. The bedrooms were comfortable and all had great views. Our favorite place was the tiki for morning coffee and afternoon cocktails. It was the first vacation we had in a few years, and relaxation was fulfilled by the Hemingway House and Key West!We did spend some time figuring out the HVAC system. One thermostat seemed to be the main one while the second acted as a satellite."

"Great location, layout of house beautiful. House run down, furniture old. Nails on the walls. Wallpaper coming up / torn. Cabinets dirty. No vaccum for getting sand up, especially for crawling baby. Not a swimming beach. Disappointed, not exceptional as marketed"

"The Lighthouse Beach House was a perfect little getaway for my husband and myself. It probably would be a good size for a family with little kids, but I think if you had teens it might be a little cramped. It was way more remote than I had anticipated, but that was totally fine for us. The other houses on the property were close enough that you knew other people were around, but far enough you never heard anyone.Pros:- Right on the beach- Clean and tidy- adequate kitchen appliances & cooking instruments- GREAT pool/BBQs/ice machine- Very remote- Laundry on siteCons:- Due to the seaweed, you can't really just walk in the ocean to cool off and after a couple of days, there is a smell - I know this is just a function of having to have the seaweed there for the ocean's ecosystem, but if this is something you like to do at any beach, you can't really do that here.- It didn't appear that the fridge was hooked up to water as we couldn't get any water out of the door or the ice machine to work. We had to use a cooking pot to get ice from the ice machine at the poolOverall, it was a nice, cute little place to stay for a short 3-4 day weekend."
